    had a Nomad (admittedly mark 1 VPP which is more extreme) after managing to afford an example of my dream bike.

    Climbed like a dog in the granny (lower VP link compresses with every pedal stroke so rear wheel pulls forward 3/4″ with every pedal, hideous). Descended nicely with a bottomless travel feel.

    Sold it and now have an Alpine (admittedly with a CCDB). Climbs better descends as well as the Nomad. Wont be selling it any time soon.

    Get two bikes. Buy a cheapish 120mm hardtail to ride XC with freinds and blow the rest on a bruiser.
