Can anyone comment on what the MTB trails at Oakwell Hall in Birstall are like please? I'm trying to get back into mountain biking after several years on the side lines, so I'm trying to do easier runs to begin with. Where on the map do they start? Is it the big red loop at the top?

Hi I have been on the Oakwell Hall MTB trail in my view it should be classified has a blue trail. It is aimed at families being able to ride the trail

If the Oakwell hall café is on your left continue up the gentle slop and over a small bridge and the trail begins on the righthand side, it marked has the MTB trail. The trail is a loop and finishes approx. 100 away from the start of the trail

FYI please use the following you tube link

If you require any more info please ask I hope you enjoy the Oakwell hall MTB trail

Cheers
Andrew

It’s a blue trail, nice and flowy and good for adding to a local route or for a few laps (as It’s only a 1 mile loop). If you’ve ridden any trail centre before (especially Leeds urban bike park) you’ll be fine

I’ve been using to get back into riding fitness after an injury enforced year off.

Emergency services are well versed in getting to it now too, should that be a concern 😉

It’s definately a blue, lots of big berms and a peddlyuphill to start.
I’ve been incorporating in loops, riding on canal and then up around hanging Heaton down to railway tracks and then up into birkby brow woods at howdenclough and Over Birstall
