This is getting ridiculously off topic.

Have any Sick customers received frames, parts or refunds?

Has anyone designed a Gnarpoon t-shirt?

So have, some haven’t. From the look of GGs insta, he’s been sorted. There’s a chap on PB who has heard nothing, so is going to small claims.

Edit, All GGs insta posts have disappeared altogether. I’m sure he’ll be along to explain why?

A wee dig at the haterz on here and pinkbike on their insta feed yesterday. I take it the qualification of haterz is A) age; as he keeps mentioning it. B) daring to talk about his shite business model?

The quote from instagram

also give a **** about single track and pinkbike forums if you wanna socialise with a load of hateful, spiteful old geezers go ahead.

To be honest, I don't think there's a lot of hate or spite on here. The old geezer part is probably more accurate 🙂
Personally, I'd love to see them succeed but just feel sorry for people paying upfront for product that doesn't arrive.
Their attitude on here and on social media in general invites ribbing and that's what we do 🙂

I think they just love creating stuff and are still trying to work out how to deliver. I just hope that they stop taking people's money while they iron out the kinks.

Probably more to do with being called out for acting like the couple of weapons grade belters they actually are 🙂

It is, but trouble for Sick! is that they are the same people that have the disposable income to buy their frames. Probably not a great idea to insult your potential customer base...

I hope it works for them, they genuinely (from interviews and so on) seem like they want to make 'rad' bike frames, and have tons of new ideas. They just need to get the business model to catch up with the plans in their heads, I think.

I pointed this out to them on a stw fb thread. Got a torrent of abuse from Tim and the fanbois.

Seems to me that they love selling and creating (i.e the fun sexy bit of designing and selling bikes) but are just bloody awful at the graft bit (the actually getting stuff in peoples hands, dealing with issues, etc).

You look at small frame companies when they start up that don't build their own frames, they tend to be one man bands initially, how many people have Sick got?

Cotic started with just Cy, how many people now? Still less than 5 I think.

Same goes for Stanton.

I remember when I bought my Dialled Bikes frames they were both pre-launch.  Mike took a deposit, he said when they would arrive. IIRC the first batch was a couple of weeks late but Mike kept everyone informed and no one had an issue as far as I'm aware.

I'm not convinced anyone in Sick is out to rip people off but if I were them I would have a think about whether running a bike company is really for them.

Not entirely sure they understand their market, if they can actually deliver some frames and stop telling people not to buy their frames they might get somewhere. Sadly I think it'll grumble on for a bit then they'll vanish leaving a lot of people unhappy. If they're lucky they'll be added to the octopus/picolax list and briefly talked about now and again.

Just found the insta thread, still blaming other parties for their failings. Given the apparent aero industry background, they should really know that's not an excuse

4 directors. Started as 2 in 2017, another 2 came on board last year.

They've got a nerve always banging on about old geezers. They're all older than me and look like scruffy, tragic, acid burnouts.

Unlike most of their noisy little Instagram monkeys I've actually got the money to buy their frames. At this point I'd rather put Ralgex on my nads.

The fu/anti attitude doesn't work for mountain bikes like it does for BMX. Mountain bike components are too expensive (suspension forks, dropper posts, drivetrains etc) for anarchist young teenagers to buy into hence their socia media followers bigging them up but not actually funding anything.
BMX is affordable and anti establishment and does work for the approach Sick are taking.

I get the attitude and the image. I rode bmx for years and hung around in the local punk and metal scene. I totally get being obnoxious and anti-everything.

The difference is, you can't be calling out haterz and acting like you're too cool for school while doing EVERYTHING wrong.

I had some of the best times of my life riding BMX and all my old mates were penniless scumbags. But, when you paid your money for a frame or some bars you could reasonably expect that they actually exist and will turn up because the people running the companies were actually making the stuff. It's hard to preach DIY then blame your suppliers when you stiff your customers.

Love the business model of alienating STW and PinkBike. Two of the most vocal MTB forums populated by people who can actually afford their bikes. Being down with the kids and anti everything is great if

1: You’re a teenager yourself.
2: You don’t have a business to run.
3: Apparently an emotionally stunted man child.

One out of three isn’t bad I suppose. I hope someone from Sick sees this and offers to fight me. I’d be totally up for it, all proceeds to charity!

I am also going to do a kickstartr if my sports car company fails to deliver ( pizza's)
Big Boy Pants anyone ?
We all know pants are too small right ?
Designed to look good on male models who only eat steroids and have shrunken genetals.
The medical bods tell us to let the boys swing free to allow better temperature regulation, hence the Big Boy Pants .
Airtex material for better ventilation in non support areas
Lycra for a smooth soft stretchy fit elsewhere
Wder , longer , lower , slacker than all other pants on the market
Big Boy Pants are where its at. On board storage system , choice of 8 colours and 8 sizes
If you are carrying a few extra pounds Big Boy Pants are made especailly for you.
And this is your chance to get in ahead of the rush
Pre Order now . Dragons Den will be all over my pants in the very near future.

There's a couple of gnarcissists on PB right now. That's two more new or used bikes than I've ever seen outside their insta. So somebody got their bikes at some point.

I don’t think anyone is saying that nobody got frames, just a signficant amount having problems with supply. One of those PB ones is one that has already been mentioned previously in this thread (owned by a chap who only ever posted on here, in one thread, about that bike) and another one of the same model, of which there were only 10 made, so 20% of a models entire ‘production run’ for sale within 6 months of owners getting them. Interesting.

It's interesting when you google Blaq Mass, no actual product turns up...

It officially launched a year ago when Jordan gave up his high-flying Fortune 500 job to spend more time with his one-year-old daughter and build up the business.

Was he a cleaner there?

All on da linkedin - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jordanchaos/

CV suggests an attention span and expertise of a nine year old boy.

Closest I can get to a Fortune 500 job is some quality control at a GSK manufacturing plant. So as far as 'high flying' goes he should be free to add weapons-grade bullshitter to his CV. Of course that could've been the reporter's choice of words but it strikes me Jordan would've been delighted with the choice of phrase....

If these frames do materialise they ought to be good as he's into quality control. He could always get himself over to Enve.
