[#10633335]

Getting ready for the weekend and taking the advantage of working at home to get things prepared.
Time to empty out the crap from the bits bag and repack it.
What am I missing? (bleed kit, lubes and GT85 are in a separate plastic bag.)

Worse, I spanner for myself. And I really hate paying someone to do stuff I can do. So if I’m heading away by car I take advantage of the fact. The boot will only be filled with shoes and shampoo otherwise*.

*or whatever else is in those bags.

In lube bag:
Hammer and mallet. Sealant and rim tape.

Chainlinks, quicklinks, tyre boot, rub less plugs and puncture repair kit in the resective bikes tool bags. Good call on brake pads, last spares are now on the bikes.

That's for a weekend?????

I thought I had a mobile tool fetish but I'd never consider taking that much for a fortnight, never mind a weekend!

Oh yeah, you appear to have forgotten a spare tube for the spare tube too.

....and spare valve caps

What's that tool top left?
And the red handled tool(s), that may or may not be a pin spanner.
You also have a fair bit of duplication... three tyre levers?

Please post up after the weekend away and tell us which of tools you actually used.

My aim is zero. Due to a decent maintenance regimen I hope to reach my target. 😁

The top left tool is a Magnusson sort of molegrip equivalent with parallel jaws that lock at atoreselected pressure.
Red handles: pin spanner for EBB adjust, red grabby type tool for weird bottom bracketything on mate’s daughters elderly kids trike.

Aha, yes, but, well, you can bet your bum that the one you need will be the one you left at home!

Not my garden or wall. I do cut the lawns as I like a nice petrol mower.

hacksaw and cutting guide? I mean if things really go bad then you might need to install a new fork.

Wow. I chuck in a multi-tool. tube and tyre levers if I remember.
Do you actually take that out on your bike?

So many spanners, I know they were a gift but seriously, what are you actually going to do with them?

What if you need to tighten someone's road bike BB for them...?

You're as likely to have a mechanical in any day's riding at the weekend, as you are in a fortnight...

I'd add molegrips and a soft faced hammer. And hand cleaning stuff, I always miss that if it's not there

To paraphrase the joke “**** em they’re only roadies.”

Molegrips superceded by the Magnussons.
My hands are cleansed by the grateful tears of those I have aided.

Hammers in the lube bag, in case the lube don’t work. Insert smiley wink here...

How on earth do you forget your trousers? I always wondered that at primary school but gave the 6 year olds the benefit of doubt.

I weep for the public understanding of probability theory.

hand cleaning stuff

Baby wipes. My kids are 7 & 3: I still rarely leave the house without baby wipes, it seems.

Is that a single cone spanner or are there two, very neatly overlaid ?

Is the little red bottle brake fluid? (since you're carrying a load of bleeding accessories) (suppose I could have read all the text too)

Crank Bros multitools in the onbike tool bottles. Does for chainsplitter too. Must remove the separate one from the roll.

No cone spanners. That’s a pedal spanner. Brake fluid with other sticky stuff and bleed kit in the lube bag.
Little red bottle is loctite. There is also copper slip and some assorted little lubes and wire wool there.

presumably 'stuff' like track pump and shock pump (and AirShot a like) are out of shot.
Torque wrench?

This is only the tool roll. No room for the Joe Blow. No need for a shock pump, rigid bikes rock!
Torque wrench is a good call. Must dig out the little presets from the bag I last took them away in.
I pack a lot less when I'm on the train...

Bearing press and drifts as well, shouldn't take up too much extra room.

Next time someone writes about their aversion to full suspension bikes because of the high maintenance requirements I shall direct them to this thread.

You really need a Record 36 vice and some soft jaws if you have the space

Pin spanner is in there.
Thinking about what circlips are on the bike - either kind. 🤔
Good call on the truing tool, never needed one yet.
Don’t know what I’d need a T25 driver for?
