I loved The Fall, he was my Elvis.

Haven’t listened to them for a few years but got into them when I was 13 in 1981 and they were my favourite band all through the 80’s (saw them live on Extricate tour).

I am surprised he actually lived to 61 though, most heavy drinkers go before that age.

If all the former members turn up, they’ll need to hold the funeral in an aircraft hanger.

Well said.  I can’t claim to be a massive fan, only have two albums (and looking this morning on Spotify at their output, that means about 2% of their back catalogue 😉 ) and were never a band I would actively sit down and listen to, but whenever something by them came on the radio or on shuffle, it would grab you by the ears and make you listen to it.

In this great big eclectic band that God’s putting together ……. MES is now in charge and everyone else has just been sacked.

I remember the first time I saw the Fall, MES shambled onto stage clutch a carrier bag (no idea what was in it) and then proceeded to be awesome. Cruisers Creek was one of the anthems of my youth.
