LONDON. (18th JANUARY 2023) – Professional MTB rider Lewis Buchanan has today announced a partnership with digital media platform OnlyFans for the 2023 season.
The 29 year old Scottish mountain biker will wear OnlyFans branded race jersey, shorts and helmet when he competes in 2023 and will use the platform to connect with his fans. Buchanan will post on OnlyFans exclusive “How to” videos with tips and tricks on how to improve your riding, bike set up tips and behind the scenes footage at events across the globe.
Creator platform, OnlyFans is home to a growing number of athletes and sports stars who are using the site to connect with their fans – sharing training videos, fitness tips and behind the scenes competition footage.
Over the past year, OnlyFans has been cultivating multi-tiered sports collaborations of this kind, demonstrating the versatility of the platform for connecting athletes and sports professionals with their fan base by providing exclusive access to content not seen elsewhere.
Buchanan is one of many sports athletes to have joined OnlyFans in recent months across a range of sports including, boxing, surfing, rally driving and wrestling.
OnlyFans has over 3 million content creators and over 220 million fans, and has paid out over $10 billion to creators since being founded in 2016.
Lewis Buchanan said: “I am proud and very stoked to announce this partnership with OnlyFans for 2023. I have always wanted to partner with a company outside the MTB industry but who are keen to get stuck into something new. Onlyfans is a social media platform where anyone can be creative and showcase their talents. Sharing exclusive content or whatever you are passionate about and connecting with your fans.
“I will use my account to share my tips and tricks on bike setup, on track tips and behind the scenes footage at events across the world. It is cool to bring a brand this large into the MTB world. I look forward to working alongside the people behind the company and having their support and backing to create the coolest MTB content and visit the most insane locations around the world on two wheels.
“This job I do is a business more than it ever used to be and I am proud of myself for making moves outside of the industry and to see this come together.”
OnlyFans CEO, Ami Gan commented:
“We are happy to welcome Lewis to OnlyFans. He is a huge MTB talent with a very loyal fanbase who will be excited to get access to his exclusive content and access the athlete directly on the platform. Lewis is one of a growing number of athletes who are utilising OnlyFans to connect with their fans and build a real community on the platform.”

In the words of Sean Lock, that’s a challenging w***!
Given this, it’s probably safer that Warner isn’t commenting on the DH world cup/series now. How close to the edge do you reckon Rob would go with the puns?
Ackman knew Banga from the tennis circuit; they share a passion for the sport. He also understood the power Mastercard and Visa wielded over Pornhub’s parent company. Most videos on the site are free to watch, but MindGeek offered subscriptions and took credit card payments from small advertisers. Roughly half of the company’s overall revenues, which peaked at about $460mn in 2018, came from paid-for porn.
Within days of Kristof’s piece and Ackman’s message, the payments giants cut Pornhub off. The effect on MindGeek was debilitating. The company’s cash flow dried up. It broke the conditions of its loans, prompting a notice of default from its lenders. And the pressure kept building, as Visa considered making its temporary suspension permanent.
So MindGeek buckled. Almost overnight, the company removed most of the porn available on its flagship site. Pornhub went from hosting 13 million videos to about four million. Millions of videos uploaded by “unverified” providers disappeared. It was probably the biggest takedown of content in internet history.
Can’t see why they’d bother “sportswashing”. Just a bit of advertising isn’t it? I remember a short while ago a fair few people hadn’t heard of OnlyFans – and why would you? I only found out from following a dodgy profile on a dating site. Now you can go there to follow a sportsbloke and go ooh look sexy laydeez! take my money!
I don’t really see the problem. If a company wants to sponsor athletes then fair play. They sponsor Ebanie Bridges the boxer as well (although she tends to wear less clothes than Lew) and several others. It’s not all porn on there (apparently) and it’s not like he has PornHub or Something on the side of his lid.
Its a win win situation for both Lew and Only fans. Lewis openly admits he dosen’t want to race anymore as dosen’t feel he has the hunger he used to have for It. So If he can get some cash from only fans to go round the world youtubing and maybe selling tuition vids on Only fans fair play to him. Only fans on the other hand are probably not by their standards throwing much money his way and If Its another non porn creator thats good for them . As has been said If some old pervy dad manages to sell to his wife he is watching Lew showing him how to manual when he actually has his trousers at his ankles watching the old ‘Wullie Thorn’ movies fair play.
FT had a fascinating article on how that actually works. Turns out the policing is almost entirely done by Credit Card payment companies..
and on the other side there’s a whole industry of people opening businesses, processing a few £m of payments through their new flower shop etc. before the card co.s shut them down again.

I was using it in a broad sense, but I think it’s still applicable.
It may be a genuine diversification strategy, but it’s also a marketing exercise to put it in your head that “OnlyFans don’t just do porn”.
It might even drive traffic to their (hard)core content as well, though it seems most of us are on the same page about there being enough free grot on the internet already.
I’d never heard of either Lewis Buchanan or Only Fans before this thread. Not sure if that matters given I’m a 50 year old non-gnar biker who has little interest in watching other people ride bikes (take this however your filthy minds see fit!), so not really the target market for either. But I guess this was sufficiently interesting to someone to generate a story that I have now read and (for the next 10mins at least) know the names. So I guess it sort of works.
I’m guessing googling Only Fans at work would be non-ideal then…..
