[Closed] Getting a second dog? Yea or nay?

We're thinking about getting a second dog. We have a 2.5 year old springer who is lovely (apart from smelling of fox poo sometimes) but we're now thinking of getting another dog so that she'd have another dog to socialise with (she sometimes seems a bit anxious and desperate for human company). Plus dogs are cool.

Is this a good idea, or are we totally to regret it terribly in six months time?
