His real name is Murphy,
Poor fella, back legs have gone and he can't get up.
Thought he might make 14 but what started as a wobble on Sat has turned into an uncomfortable distressing thing
13.5 years is a long time and he's been with me nearly everyday.
He is a brilliant dog
I will miss him
๐
Sad, very sad news.
I know what that pain feels like.
Really feel for you. We lost ours late last year. Still think of him all the time but more of the memories now are about how he was with us rather than how he left us.
Really sorry to hear that. All the best to you I know what it's like to lose a four legged friend.
Well he's perked up a bit and managed to get up a go out to the garden.
Don't rush but equally don't leave it too long. Sympathies from the Sandwich household.
Take care Tiger6791.
Oh no. Thinking of you fella.
This thread needs some happy Magnetodog pics mate....

๐ฅ Very sorry to read this, he's clearly a much-loved family pet who will be missed. Be brave and please give him a gentle hug from me.

Very sorry to hear this, but thanks for posting those pictures up again. The first two still raise a chuckle.
๐
but ๐ at the pictures looks an ace dog.
poor Murphy - I'm sure you're all giving him a great last few days/weeks, if that's what this turns out to be
Sorry to hear about this too. Thread of the year last year. Made me laugh and still does
Sorry to hear.
Our Lab is 12 and her legs were going, ended up getting some medicine from the vets. She has it every morning and changed her completely. She's still going strong - definitely worth exploring that option if you haven't already.
Poor lad. Tough decision, but nothing worse than seeing them in pain.
Christ, I'm welling up typing this. ๐
[the last pic]
Daughter: ?!?!?
Murphy: just roll with it...
Lovely pictures!

Poor Murphy.
๐
saddest day of my life was taking my old labby Brock, to be put to sleep.
his back end gave way the same.
then we stupidly bought a labby bitch, Molly.
dreading the day.......... ๐
feel for you mate. looks a lovely lad too.

Wingnut the Bedlington sends a friendly bum sniff
Sorry to hear that mate, must be awful. I had a near miss with my (9 yr old) dog last week in what turned out to be an infected prostate, which at one point was looking terminal. I felt so bad then thinking it might be the end, so can't imagine how you feel.
Sorry to hear this, it is heartbreaking when they get old.
Our lab is the same age. He is on Vivitonin and we take him swimming twice a week which has given him loads more strength in his wobbly back end.
Fingers crosse for you both.
He's back home and got Vivatonin
Stay of execution
Vet said strong healthy dog, see how he responds.
Best of luck to him
Good luck boy!
Those pics are brilliant!
Yay.
Pics needed of Magnetodog celebrating his extension.
Great news ๐ hopefully this will be a new lease of life for him.
Go Magnetodog!

Good Lad.
thats the best pic, cheered me up no end.
hope all goes well, Molly(our collie) would say hello but she's flaked out on the sofa again
What an ace dog!
I don't have a dog, but if I did I'd want one who didn't mind sitting there while I stuck spoons on him.
Great stuff mate!...
This is bloody brilliant!!!!! ๐
