    Used these and variations of for years on the BMX with no problems, not tried them on a MTB though. Shin pads advised.

    how about DMR V8’s ? (or any of the REALLY cheap ‘copies’)

    they’re cheap, and the loose ball bearings + grease port mean they could be kept going easily for years.

    (V12’s don’t last any longer before needing some tlc – and are a total swine to fix)
