I think you could pick up a 2nd hand powertap for that price which would make more difference to training to imporve times, or get a powertap and disc cover and use it for racing with the front wheel you have.

    BBAR for men is 10, 25, 50. 100, 12 hour

BBAR is over 50, 100 and 12 hour.

The 1980s called, they want their incorrect technology back!

Oh, so you’ve done tyre size aero testing? Putting a >20mm tyre on a Hed 3 ruins the aerodynamics. 23mm tyres are only suited to the latest generation of wide rimmed aero wheels (Firecrest, Hed Stinger/Jet/GT3), where a greater tyre width has been factored into the design. For classic 19mm wheels, skinny is still faster.

I’m not calling it into question, but where does the idea that taping a tub, rather than gluing it, increase rolling resistance come from

The tubs is less securely attached to the rim, so can shift under power.

    That’s the 1980s bit I was meaning – 19mm tyres.

    Got a source for that?

I can’t find the data, but Zinn mentions it here. I’m sure we’re talking very very marginal losses though, fractions of a watt.

I think he got that, just that on narrow rims narrow tyres are faster, so if you have old narrow rims then 1980s tyres are faster. I have no idea.
