Last big thing was seen late on the Saturday and ordered over the phone first thing Sunday morning

That is an impressive impulse buy!

A VFR 800, 2003 14k miles.

Not my kind of bike, but it was going very cheap from a family member who's given up riding - so cheap it would have been silly not to have it (that's what I've told myself anyway!).

Rapha rucksack, I don't need one, never have needed one yet but I liked the Blue coloured one and hey, I bought a bundle of socks and a wallet too.. £340 gone.

😯 😯 😯 😯 😯
A rucksack, some socks and a wallet? £340!?!?!?!?!

The thing is rapha sent previous customers a 15% off code yesterday, rucksack cost £150, transfer wallet is £80 both pre discount. So at least £110 on socks!!

I don't think I've spent £110 on socks in total. Even if you count the value of ones i've been gifted, I wouldn't be much past that.

Unless.....are you some sort of human centipede?

Yup.. socks, I did buy some nice ones 😳

Akchewely quite a few nice ones, you know the new multi coloured merino ones, and some green ones in short and long and you know I bought a pair of lime green overshoes which are kinda socks riiiigghhtt?

I can be a dick sometimes. But it was late, I'd had 3 snifters of whiskey (probs doubles) and a glass of wine.. Now normally I'd be comatose, but the glare of the laptop screen kept me awake 😆

I think that's one of those nail/head interfaces right there...

...And here's my last impulse purchase that just arrived from the States - an Aaron Horkey print from the Gilded Age exhibition...

My last impulse purchase was a framed image of the cover of Joy Divisions Unknown Pleasures. Its hand-cut out of paper with a scalpel, by Clare, a local artist who constantly gobsmacks me with her work, which exhibits a skill and attention to detail I can barely even begin to contemplate.

It is truly a thing of beauty and wonder.

Like a pair of Rapha socks, I imagine

probably much cheaper though.

In fact those camper vans above could probably have been bought with loose change after buying Rapha socks....

The camper van won't turn the colour of old chewing gum after one wet ride... The paper cut might though! Any pics Binners?

Oh, just clicked 'buy' on a dehumidifier... Rock and roll... 🙁

Needed a bluetooth speaker for my son's birthday party so bought a Bose soundlink mini. It's nice but not as good (loud) as I thought it'd be. Kind of wish I hadn't bothered really.

Put it in a corner and listen to the difference 😉

A second Opinel.
Stainless this time.

Perfect for the fishing bag, but definitely an impulse buy.

Managed to get out of Winfield's at Hassie with just that, the dubbin and dry bags I'd gone in for.
🙂

Does a baby daughter count? I didn't buy her, but I am paying for her (and therefore not much else since).

For a tenner, they really are lovely things.
The helpful sales bloke emptied all their stock onto the counter so I could have a rummage.
Managed to find one with a nice patterned grain, couldn't leave it behind.

Tea strainer and some ridiculously expensive tea. In my defense it was Jasmine and Oolong, but little luxuries (about £1 a cup).

Prefer Chrome socks to Rapha, personally.

Fake boobies for the wife. She's been banging on about them for the last 10 years.

Just woke up yesterday and thought **** it.

Initial consultation in the pipeline.

Win?

Well, it would've have to be under £20 that's for sure. Anything else I like to agonise over for months (or even years) before I finally plump for something and then immediately end up full of regret at having thrown away more good money than I can actually afford....

Edit: duh, read the thread title, non bike.... 😳

And Tracey's +1 got to be the winner.

I read

as it flashed past my eyes, while then scrolling up to...

which seemed apt.

I don't really do "impulse", but this was definitely a "f.. it, I'm only middle aged once" moment.

Much to my surprise the missus thinks it's great too. Stargazing up on the moors with the top down and heated seats on is kinda cool.
