Got all day Sunday to ride, and fancy a decent day out..

So, any recommendations for good to navigate, but quality trails..??

Can't find my Garmin, so it's gonna have to be map etc..

I'm over near Chester & will happily [s]Rape the plannet[/s] drive to a decent location ๐Ÿ™‚

When you say 'good to navigate', do you mean easy?

If so and you're up for driving over to the Lakes, then the Nan Bield loop is utterly brilliant.

Start from just south of Kentmere, head east over to Sadgill, then turn north and head over the Gatsegarth Pass (this is a bitch going up but worth it) down to Haweswater, then turn SE and head up the Nan Bield pass, then back down into Kentmere.

It's really easy to navigate, all the bridleways are immediately obvious on the map and the descent back down the Nan Bield pass into Kentmere is one of 'those' single track moments you won't ever forget.

Err, yes... ๐Ÿ˜

I'm good with a map, just would prefer not to have to stop at every junction...

I'm slow enough already ๐Ÿ™

Yes it would be a very different ride one way versus the other. The climb up from Haweswater to Nan Bield via Small Water is extremely technical. It's rideable down but you'd need to be seriously good to ride it all.

It's basically a massive rock staircase and pretty steep to the point that you're carrying your bike pretty much all the way from Small Water onwards if your climbing it. If you're descening it, you wouldn't be carrying much speed and it could end up feeling like a chess game rather than a fun technical descent. But it is the real challenge.

The single track back down to Kentmere is amazing though as is the descent from Gatesgarth down to Hawesater.
