Don't really have one particular film that is my fav but the only films i own and can watch repeatedly are :

Withnail & I
Intersteller
The Big Lebowski
Dazed & Confused
Under The Skin
Moon
In The Loop

And recently i've been watching The Death Of Stalin quite a few times so i imagine that's also going into my list

Dazed & Confused

Which just reminded me - 'Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same' was the drunken go to 'at home alone' film for decades, I replaced the worn VHS tape with DVD then finally 'replaced' that with YouTube highlights.

Seems Youtube channels are now my most regular late night home-alone choice, perfect attention-deficit companions 😉

Binners is your choice original or the Redux?

The original. The extra footage in Redux is self-indulgent twoddle which adds nothing.

My second is Withnail. I think it takes a few watches of it before you get past the laughing your tits off stage and realise its the greatest story of unrequited love and desperation ever told. And when you realise that, the final scene has more pathos than any other movie scene ever filmed. Always really upsets me.

The big Lebowski is another thats right up there. I love it! Utter genius.

And when me and my best mate, who I've known since I was 4, get back in from the pub, we don't even need to ask whats going on....

[img] [/img]

Its been the default since we were at school (1843). No matter how may hundreds of times we've watched it, we'll sit there laughing like drains 😀

Swingers
I really enjoyed this film in the 90s. Watched it again a few months ago. It has not aged well at all, I struggled to get through it.

Is this just a "Films I like" thread, or actually people's multiple watched default film(s)??

+1 Blazing Saddles.

Was the first DVD I ever bought, and oddly the first HD-DVD (yeah, I know, but counts as my first 'HD' disc, and not going to rebuy it on Blu Ray).

But Clockwork Orange is pretty much my all time favourite and could watch it endlessly. Along with most Kubrick films.

I used to watch certain stuff over and over, but like with all films I've suddenly stopped watching mostly. Not sure why. I got bored and/or annoyed with the new stuff coming out, and perhaps have oversaturated my watching. Now got into the habit of just watching TV shows as they're shorter. A film is an investment of a couple of hours, and I like to watch it in full cinema mode which involves, being fed first, getting the room ready, lights off, make sure the surround is working right etc. I just feel I could do something more useful in the time.

Scum

Great film. Wouldn't make my 'go to' list (although I do have it on DVD) as I usually just find films during late evening scanning of film channels on the tv.

Betty Blue

It's a crap film save for the naughty bits though. Now we have the interweb it really isn't needed any more. Agree with 1 & 4 though.

Ski School.
So bad it bypasses good and goes straight to great.
I've lost track of how many times I've watched it with my mates, every weekend away must include a viewing!
Rarely does a day pass when I don't quote from it, which is intensely sad but makes me chuckle. Keeps me feeling young 🙂

several films come to mind that are 'go to' Sunday afternoon, duvet day or seasonal watches, a lot of which are listed above. Not seen on the list so far, but can always make time to watch are:

The Great Escape
The Goonies
Uncle Buck
The Day After Tomorrow
Love Actualy

not always in that order!

I wouldn't say it's a default film as such (I don't own a copy of either of them) but two that I'll always watch if they're on TV:
Tremors
Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves

Airplane
Tremors
Serenity
Life of Brian

Please tell me you mean the Directors Cut version otherwise you miss one of the best bits in the movie.

Of course. Do you think I'm some sort of heathen?

Going through the list of suggestions I realised I've never seen Withnail and I

You really should rectify that situation.

Quite a few others been mentioned here I could've also listed. BTTF, The Princess Bride, Breakfast Club.

First Blood, anyone?

Dusk Till Dawn is one of a good mate's go-to film. I must've seen it a hundred times just by dint of Dave + beer.
