My custom is 10 years old, ex Brighton council van. Minimal rust which I've taken care of in about 10 mins. They don't seem to rust like the old vans used to.
Why not buy brand new. That way you can have a transit custom AND a VW transporter since they are essentially now the same vehicle 😉
Whats peoples thoughts on Mercedes Vitos? I’m going to be replacing my Nissan NV200 early next year so I’m starting my research early!
Hi there, infrequent poster alert but I’ve had my Transit for a couple of years. Now, this could be construed as a not-so-stealth ad but it’s currently on EBay for £11250 and has a new full engine with about 6500 miles recorded. The timing belt went (at 175k miles, I should add). It’s first three years with a fleet owner account for 150k miles. All I can say is, I haven’t gone balls-out to sell it as i too would like to convert it to day van / holiday duties but it owes me money! They drive fantastically well for a van and it’s high spec too - lined and carpeted I could easily envisage doing BIG trips in it. They’re not at all like the vans of yore or more workaday vans like Boxers / Trafics. They’re really nice to drive, handle well and can be parked anywhere. PM me if you want more detail but even though I’ve spent a fortune on it, I don’t hate it. That should tell you all you need to know.
