’m confused, the Guardian taught me that Prince Harry was a racist Nazi sympathiser, now he’s marrying a POC?

Also... Harry didn't marry a Jew and the Nazis were quite fond of brown people.... ie Japan and the Muslim world.

@Kimbers. HAH! Well said.

She is a Proof of Concept?

You bet she is, after allowing Harry’s marriage to a mixed race american divorcee, the flood gates are opened - within months Prince Philip will be settling down with a 20 year old Tanna islander (where they regard him as a god) and good old Prince Andrew will be shipping over Thai Ladyboys by the boatload.

From his childhood onward this boy will be surrounded by sycophants and flatterers by the score and will be taught to believe himself as of a superior creation. A line will be drawn between him and the people whom he is to be called upon some day to reign over. In due course, following the precedent which has already been set, he will be sent on a tour round the world, and probably rumours of a morganatic alliance will follow and the end of it all will be that the country will be called upon to pay the bill.

He does seem like basically a good egg though. Anyone that can grow up in that family and not be a total astronaut is doing OK

Not interested in the royals, but pleased he will get to marry who he chooses. Having lost a parent at a similar age, big events are always filled with mixed emotions.

My Brother-in-law is one of the few people who have legitimately shouted at him to shut the fxxx up! 😆

The odd bit about this is the whole idea of getting married in the first place.

I'd hazard a guess that even this won't help her sort her visa in Brexit Britian. Do you think he will have to sit their and squirm as the questions to prove it is not a marriage of convenience get asked 😀

I imagine the wedding won't be for 3 years or so.

Just to avoid the hassle of inviting the orange one.

But he's the groom.

That mail headline. Is it because she is black?

I think he may just watch it on the telly with a few drinks.

Nice to see Gazza's lost a bit of weight.

Isn't it traditional for the brides father to pay for the wedding (& the security & the bank holiday)?

Even if King Edward did not abdicate by continuing to be King, the Queen (present) will still be the Queen. Wallis was 40 when she met King Edward or something like that. Think about it. 🙂

In fairness to Harry he seams like a decent lad. There is no place for the monarchy in this day and age however.

I'd have no issues with big wedding as long as it's not funded in any way by the tax payer, even if it's only the huge security operation.

Although given the huge crowds that will attend, I'm probably in the minority.

No extra holiday sucks however

I rather have the stability of one Queen/King or monarchy then a group of elected "kings/queens" (i.e. Presidents whatever) that also want to have their fills and treated like one. 🙄

Just think what this is going to do for US/UK relations, let alone Canada (where she’s been adopted as one of their own) - it all bodes well for a Tripartate UK/UK/Canuck trade deal (that thought alone should have the remainers crying into soy lattes for a while, even before Donald starts tweeting how excited he is about coming to the wedding)

My god, is there no thread or subject that the likes of ninfers wouldn't use to advance their Trojan horse agenda?

Oh, no, that's right.

Basically, no there isn't.

Because of this news, my 5yo daughter who'd recently decided she wasn't black and is white, has decided she's black again.

Not that it matters in the slightest, but I hadn't even considered her as mixed race when I've seen pics of her before

Reminds me of a story my mum told me about her aunt who's son was some high ranking envoy in Zimbabwe years ago. He married a beautiful black lady and she was mortified. When they had a child she told my mum she was delighted, and the baby wasn't really black... More coffee coloured..

Not so pc back in the day..

No doubt the wedding will be timed to block out the misery of post Brexit life and give the poor something to cheer for...

I am with Kimbers and Binners.. the whole structure needs consigning to History.

Harry and William seem like great chaps.... and I am sure they will continue to do a lot of good in their lives.

Am coming to realise having the monarchy is really a great thing.

Jeremy Vine does tend to be a bit "Daily Mail Headline" at times.

I reluctantly have come around to the same way of thinking.
The alternatives aren't particularly palatable.. Trump, Putin, small angry Man with comical haircut and Captain scarlet suit, President Blair, etc.

the royal family bring in a lot of money to this country via tourism, and provide fairly decent role models for those people who need/want them.

Without them the pool of modern-day role models would be characters from those awful soap operas, reality tv 'stars', z-list celebrities like Jordan/Katie Price, etc.

I would gladly contribute a bit more than the pennies it costs to keep the royal family just to say that we have better role models in this country than the above-listed bunch of losers.

I agree, but don't feel that has always been the case.
I'm not convinced Charles + Andrew have always been great role models..

I don’t know why all the emphasis is on he is marrying someone of mixed race.

She’s marrying a ginger for Christ’s sake, will no one think of the children.

Theres loads of info out there regarding this. At worst there're at break even. But more provably a financial asset.
