My 30 year old VW 1.6D white smokes for a few seconds on start up from cold then all is fine for the rest of the day. I have changed the leak off pipes and its a bit better.

Is it worth using Wynn's Injector cleaner for diesel ? or waste of money.

thanks an advance

Not very strong. Look on powerenhancer.co.uk and get either the BG244 or AR6400-d. Add it to the tank when nearly empty before filling, try to make the tank last as long as possible. Not easy when the additive raises the octane level quite a lot and the car will feel more responsive. When it gets to 1/4 tank refill and drive normal.
You see a marked improvement after the treatment in the smoothness of the engine and the MPG.

what colour smoke? at 30years old? (typo?) i'd be replacing injectors and checking compression.
I'd also stick 200-300ml of 2stroke oil in a full tank to help lube stuff

Sounds pretty normal on start up for a diesel .. my T5 has always had a puff of white smoke on start up.
