Well, had a top holiday with the kids in the area/trails around Staunton. Lovely. You locals are lucky!
Holiday somewhat spoiled by a Parking Eye notice and £100 fine, whilst Mrs Beagle popped into the reception of the Wye Valley Visitor Centre (here: https://wyevalleyvisitorcentre.co.uk/m.contact.html)
She only went in to check out prices on joint tickets to the maize for a future trip. I waited in the car juggling the kids. 11 minute stay to make an enquiry and £100 parking fine. 10 minute grace period then parking fees apply. That’s a whole new thread and I’m working on a letter to appeal.
However, if there are any locals on here who pass by and wouldn’t mind sending me a pic or two of the entrance and any signage, that would be much appreciated/help me massively. Obviously in exchange for a PayPal beer/coffee 🙏
Hope that’s not too much of an ask and do shout if you have been stung there yourself. Sounds common on TripAdvisor - would have checked if I had any phone signal at all!!
Cheers!
Your main source of power in the first instance is the land owner. They have the power to cancel the ticket, so be nice to them and write a begging letter with what happened. Worked for me with Aldi!
Was it the car park for the butterfly zoo and maize maze?
If so I can have a look in the morning on my way home from work. The postal address gives an odd location.
Cheers Both,
Big black - yes, appreciate that massively, but don't go out of your way. After reading up a bit Parking Eye haven't done it exactly by the book either. I'll be popping the owners a line with a semi-begging letter. I did call and as soon as I mentioned parking - the line went dead! Called back and got me a much more assertive chap who agreed with the proportionality of the fine and said I wasn't a customer. Thanks for that!!!!
Is Google maps street view any good? You can make out most signage on the entrance off it.

Interesting ya. Did have a peep online, and noticed the missing sign and also the boards just through the entrance. Not sure when that was taken though! Or what was just inside that gate.
I piped by on my way home. No signs around the entrance, but then the centre was closed. I managed to get some photos of the parking notice boards.
I’ve sent you a PM OP.
