I've been given some of this to try, and it's rather lovely!
I've also got a few of Circlemaster to neck before the night's over too!
Anyone else got any recommendations from this fine brewery, or should I just ask for a case of each for Chrimbo? I'm liking the light, pale ale taste, not sure I'd get on too well with the darker stuff so what else should I be looking at?
Hobgoblin is nice but very dark - but not as dark as the black wych, which is a stout. I think they also do a cider (green wych), Circlemaster (as mentioned), and I think Goliath is one of theirs in a larger bottle, although I could be wrong about that one.
Very nice they are too 🙂 Tried the Black Sheep golden ale on Friday and that was very drinkable.
Still waiting to find a local pub with Marsden Old Empire on draft 🙁
Brewed literally just down the road, rather tastey stuff. Quite fond of Hobgoblin and Goliath myself.
I think Hobgoblin is vastly over rated. Their cider is pretty good though.
Goliath is the way forward...man's ale
Circlemaster is their best IMO or the Whychcraft.
Hobgoblin / fiddlers elbow are different kettles of fish but good all the same.
After a session of testing, I've found Circlemaster is in the lead. Now to find a shop that stocks some of the rest to give them a try 😆

If you find yourself anywhere near Witney in West Oxon I can highly recomend a tour of the Wychwood Brewery ([url= http://www.wychwood.co.uk/ ]Website[/url]), we did it a couple of months ago and it was fantastic (I'm 26 and don't have a beard -so it's not just for the 'hard core' real ale fans!) 😆
I can get hold of most of them from my local supermarket, something like £1.67 a bottle at the moment so it looks like I'll be visiting sometime this week 🙂
I find large Sainsburys have a good stock of Wychwood beers
Hobgoblin seems to have lost some of its taste of late, used to be a favourite of mine.
Gone off Hobgoblin, but like the rest of their stuff - especially when cheap from Aldi.
The Black Wych is an interesting experiment to try!
