Don't worry about it Ernie I've told him to be quiet.
You doing another Biggin Hill ride this year?
I'm inclined to disagree with you Elfin, but I'll save you the trouble of posting a picture of a flyover or something and get back to watching Jamie trying to make America eat healthily.
Oh, and I'm still yet to get this notion of winning on internet forums...
Quite remarkable really as disability living allowance is absolutely nothing to do with the job cemtre or it's staff whatsoever
Well I thought that too, but that's what he seemed to be saying.......he was talking very softly and I was straining very hard to hear.
Some people are so inconsiderate 😐
No backlash from me. I'm just looking at Poor Kids on Beeb1.
"Sam lives with with father and sister. His mother walked out on the family on Sam's 2nd Birthday"
They get by £420 a month. The poverty line is around £1000 per month. In Sam's words..."we have to get what we need, not what we want".
Life's ****ing great on benefits isn't it?!?
Contrary to popular belief, the JobCentre do jack all to help people back into work. I have been unemployed for 6 months now and for all the moeny they have given me in that time I could have taken a number of qualifications that would have me working in no time. I have said to them numerous times that I would happily take a labouring job on a building site if they put me through the necessary tickets to allow me to work on one.
Well he could have been saying it, but he was saying it in the wrong bloody place if he was 🙂
You doing another Biggin Hill ride this year?
Well we were going to, but then we discovered that last year was the last Biggin Hill Air Show for ever 🙁
EDIT : but Addiscombe CC will be riding through Biggin Hill tomorrow morning roadie style. 10 o'clock at East Croydon station if you want to join us, back by oneish. There's going to be at least one beginner tomorrow, so the pace should be fine for your shopping bike.
Really? Blimey! 🙁
Ah that's a shame. But how about another ride down that way anyway? I enjoyed that.
I'll bring a more suitable bike though, and wear proper shoes. I know the shopping basket and sandals upset you.
Poor children are 2.5 times more likely to suffer chronic illness.
Life's ****ing great on benefits isn't it?
tadeuszkrieger - he is correct if you are on the sick you dont need to sign on therefore you have no need to attend a job centre. You would have to deal with the benefits agency who have nothing to do with JC+ [ jobcentreplus] though they will let you use the phone to call them till you shout then they ask you to leave.
They are both part of DWP and civil servants
Life's **** great on benefits isn't it?!?
I think many people, speshly some on here, seriously have no idea about the reality of life for many people on benefits. I met a young woman a couple of years ago, had a toddler who was blind. They were waiting to be housed, but the local council had pushed them from pillar to post, in and out of 'temporary accommodation'. Meaning the little girl barely had time to adjust to her surroundings, and was becoming quite withdrawn and unhappy. Blind children need stable, familiar surroundings so they can become fully adjusted to their home environment and feel safe.
Proper upset me, listening to her. I'd like anyone who dismisses all benefit claimants with scorn and contempt to come and see the reality for many people.
Of course, that might take a bit more effort than laughing at someone on the telly.
I'd like to see the episode where 'Employment Nanny' or whatever she's called rocks up on the estate in Glasgow where 88% of families are living below the poverty line...
Just seen this Elfie :
Ernie; you have no idea just how convoluted local government politics in Tower Hamlets is. Loads of dodgy dealings going on.
And mayors with dodgy names. Why the German/Jewish sounding name, when the mayor is clearly neither German nor Jewish ? 😯
2 kids in a playground in the Gorbals having their equivalent of an STW spat:
"My house is damper than your house"
Life...etc.
85% of children living in damp flats suffer breathing problems.
Bloody scroungers.
And mayors with dodgy names. Why the German/Jewish sounding name, when the mayor is clearly neither German nor Jewish ?
Lutfur Rahman? How on Earth is that German Jewish?? 😕 He's a Bengali!
And how's it 'dodgy'? Oh, what, cos it's 'foreign'??
I despair, I really do.... 😥
if they put me through the necessary tickets to allow me to work on one.
construction industry is on its knees and a CSCS card wont get you a job not will training. try looking in to some LMI [ labour market information.
You can do the CSCS card test for £17.50 - the book costs £15 and your library should have a copy. It then cost £30 for the card
The reason they wont pay you is there are literally hundreds of folk with the qualification you want and experience who cant find work. If you are so confident get a career development loan.
i dont have access to the research at home but would you like to guess at what percentage of people given a vocational course got a job- seriously have a guess.
Employers wont give you chance as you still lack experience trust me I do this shit for a living and work with people like those you saw on that programme
Get a job offer in writing and then go see an adviser and ask for ADF [ advisor discretionary fund ] and they will pay for it.
"Sam lives with with father and sister. His mother walked out on the family on Sam's 2nd Birthday"
Aye, listening to Sam is pretty heart breaking. 🙁
Bloody scroungers.
+1 as a life choice they can keep it. Sad that people have such low aspirations.
Surfer - you might want to choose to put BBC1 on and see if they have the choice...
It's not a nice story for Sam is it.
"1 in 6 poor children has considered suicide"
Jesus Christ!
****, this is a depressing programme!
surfer, please tell me you've left out a smiley or something there. You have, haven't you?
Lutfur Rahman? How on Earth is that German Jewish??
Well "Rahman" sounds Jewish to me. Or at least like the sort of name an SS concentration camp commandant might have ........a bit like Eichman you could say. Any ****stani/Muslim type who wants to call himself Rahman sounds well dodgy to me.
please tell me you've left out a smiley or something there. You have, haven't you?
I think you know me better than that DD I was taking my lead from your comment which I suspect was ironic.
"he is correct if you are on the sick you dont need to sign on therefore you have no need to attend a job centre."
If you are claiming incapacity benefit, then yes, it's the job centre and DWP that would deal with it.However the Disability Living Allowance mentioned is not managed by the DWP is dealt with by the Pensions, Disability and Carers Service (DCS) and not dealt with in a job centre at all apart from perhaps, as you say them letting you use their phone.
The fact that both are civil servants is of no real consequence however,as both organisations are compartmentalised, for example The Foreign Office,HMRC,the DVLA and the Passport office are Civil servants as well, but I wouldn't expect them to have a bloody clue about my DLA either.:)

Marvellous. 😐
Oh, and he's Bangladeshi, not ****stani. Significant difference.

Whoops, sorry double post.......
he's Bangladeshi, not ****stani. Significant difference.
😕 What "significant" difference ? ...... apart from the spelling.
@ surfer, sorry the thought even crossed my mind 🙂
What "significant" difference ?
Bangladeshi cuisine involves lots of fish dishes. ****stan has a better cricket team.
Out of 12* rich countries studied, kids in the UK have the least chance of escaping poverty.
I'm sure the countries were chosen by some bleeding heart guardian reading socialist so as to make the UK look bad. 😐

you have highlighted my point - they don't do anything to help. I ask for advice and they either pass the buck or point blank refuse to help. you have given me information here that someone in the JCtr will know but the pen pushers on the other side of the desk are too lazy get get off their asses and ask.
****stan has a be[s]t[/s]nter cricket team.
There.
****, that's racist in't it.
tadeuszkrieger -- remind me never to disagree with you if that is what you do when I agree with you 😆
I bow to your knowledge I have worked in a JC+ but not for them
Sounds like some of them work-shy scousers have got jobs in your job centre dude!
And it's threads like these that erodes my faith in stw-kind (at least in a small percentage of them) 😐
Child poverty in the uk is reinforced by Tory policy and dogma. If upu are poor and born into poverty you become like us or **** off. Big dave's big society has no place for the likes of sam.
Sorry, didnt mean to sound like I was disagreeing, it kind of came out wrong, it's late and I've taken my pills now :)Though I have claimed Incapacity before now, and still receive DLA so i'm kind of coming at it from that angle.Didn't make myself very clear...soz 🙂
They dont this stuff ring this number ask for an appointment
0800100900 - they may have one in your local job centre website here
Information depends on how good the adviser is that you see it can be pretty variable tbh.
My mail is in profile if you want some help as well
JC staff dont knwo this stuff it has been alongtime since they helped people now they just make sure you comply...can i see your book for example. Most staff think it is shit as well FWIW
tadeuszkrieger - it was quite a polite pwning to be fair and I was not offended
Happy Birthday Sam!
"I got two presents and 1 card" 🙁
He's getting his first ever proper haircut for his twelfth birthday.
Funny how there seems to be far more media demonisation of people on benefits since CallMeBigSocietyDave and his lot took over, dun't it?
Well if they mention "single mothers" then we'll have the complete set and we'll all be time warped back to the early 90's.
The sooner the Tory c**ts leave office the better.
Bangladeshi cuisine involves lots of fish dishes. ****stan has a better cricket team.
Hardly "significant" is it ?
So are you coming tomorrow or what ? And I wasn't kidding btw, we will be riding through Biggin Hill......although just through the back end of it, after we've been to the coffee shop in Downe village.
"Child poverty is set to rise 11% under current policies"
Those kids just bloody broke my heart 🙁
+1
