11 as the M6 is being dug up from 11 - 9 and is a nightmare at the moment

I live in Wolverhampton City Centre (but don't drive).

IMO J10 would be better, as its less of a pain to get to the centre from there.

EDIT: with the above you can in fact go to J12 then A5, A449. Once on the A449 it's pretty much just a straight line to the city centre.

Make your mind up - yam or yow. It makes a difference. 13 or 12 and come down the A449.

j12, West on A5 for 2 miles, then left onto A449 straight into Wolvo. Dont stay on the M6 past 12 as it all goes to sh1t.

J11 then A460

or

J11 A460 > M54 > A449

Tell them to get off at Stafford so you miss the worst of the M6

scruffy's route will be route of choice especially as they're closing jct11-8 exactly when I'm traveling. ****ers. It's bad enough I have to detour on the M56. Could be a long journey this one.

Could you not avoid M6 totally and use different train station?

'fraid not. We are meeting chums and staying at the Prem Inn beside the choo-choo's. Would have gone by train but we'll need the car through the day.

roll on Sunday and the voyage of discovery that will be 'the journey home'
