A look back at how things were done to keep the M62 open in 1979. It's quite long but the best parts are towards the end. Enjoy the old cars & trucks plus the police actually getting stuck in. I was stuck on the Lancashire side like hundreds of other truck drivers.

Loved that thanks. Spend many hours on the M62 and I was 1 when that was recorded. Best bit was the ambulance coming in hot and crashing into a car 🙂

The ambulance sliding on ice into the police Granada is comedy gold. That in itself would close the motorway today! Brilliant work by the police Range Rovers towing trucks & a jack-knifed tanker. Imagine that happening now.
