A Middle East-based private equity group has finalised a deal to take over Leeds United.
GFH Capital has now started a one-month transitional period and, following Football League approval, will become 100% shareholder of the club.
Current owner Ken Bates will remain as chairman until the end of the season, when he will become president
The sooner Bates and Colin W bugger off, the better.
*Dear Mr Moyes, here is a massive bag of Arab cash. Please sort my football club out. Best wishes, T. Soks*
Will take a lot more than Bates going to make Leeds even remotely un-scum again.
Dirty Leeds, Dirty Leeds, Dirty Leeds, Dirty Leeds.

Bates is just staying to top up his pension. I doubt he'll have much/any say in the day to day stuff. Thats what David Haigh is coming in for...
Arguably the fans and Bates deserve each other.
No fun being a Leeds fan ATM, hopefully things will change although TBH I think football as a sport is past it's sell by date and I don't follow it anywhere near as much as I used to, ruined by mercenaries, too much money and idiots running the game.
Great thread title that helps to dispels all those lies and myths about football fans and leeds fans in particular
Good work

Toxicsoks doesn't need pithy comebacks, best use of a roll eyes emotion ever
Is this thread actually real?
I can see it now, YEP Nov 2042:
"Leeds United's honorary president Sir Kenneth William Bates celebrates his 110th birthday saying 'you aint seen nothing yet you morons'"

Do Leeds fans have a bit of a reputation?
Sadly (and undeservedly) yes. No worse than any other fans in general but people who don't know any better assume they are the same as the fans (and team) from 40 years ago.
But are Leeds fans even remotely bothered about the reputation that was built on the team of 40 years ago? Nope. Not in the even little bit slightest.
Can't want to see Messi join on loan with a view to a permanent view later today 😉 He should fit in well playing alongside Luke Varney, aka Messy.
