It seems quite well established that the Russians are interfering in other countries' elections - just been reading an article about interference with Macron in France.
There was the US presidential one, talk about influence on the EU referendum here, and articles like this: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/feb/12/uk-cyber-attacks-ncsc-russia-china-ciaran-martin
I'm sure there are technical things happening to stop it, but when is big bad Theresa going to give Putin a public spanking?
Or do we just admit we're powerless...?
Russia can pretty much do what it likes at the moment. Shoot down civilian aircraft, assassinate UK residents with radioactive materials, invade neighbouring countries and bomb hospitals, its all just in a days work for them at the moment. All we have are carefully chosen and not very strong words.
I don't see why internet hacking would cause a greater issue that the things mentioned above. I imagine Putin is laughing his arse off.

Given the CIA's long and chequered history of meddling in other countries' elections - both directly and indirectly* - and that it was recently revealed that US intelligence agencies have the ability to infiltrate any computer system and leave digital fingerprints suggesting it was someone else**, how can you be so sure that Russia is involved in any political hacking?
