I'm not convinced aj beats fury. Every time fury has stepped up in class he has proven that he is a far better boxer than most (including me) gave him credit for.

I also assumed he had a ropey chin given Cunningham put him on his arse, but whilst he went down yesterday he recovered brilliantly. I'm not convinced he was that badly hurt in the 12th either. He clearly was aware enough to take his time getting back up, rather than instantly try to scramble to his feet as so often happens when a fighter is put down.

As for how these guys would fare against heavies of old..probably not very well. I don't think Joshua is any better than Bruno tbh.

I`d say the standard of contemporary heavyweight boxing is far worse than my ability to call the outcome of a fight; not blowing my own trumpet .. but I predicted Wilder and Fury would demonstrate just how bad the heavyweight elites are today. However, I did get the result wrong.

Well that was better than expected, a real clash of contrasting styles! Dare I say Fury looked pretty sharp and in control in the middle rounds. He got some nice combos in off the back of his jab and double jab.

Avoiding Wilder's overhand right for 12 rounds is a tricky task for any opponent, even though Wilder is a sloppy boxer he's capable of pulling off surprise knockouts of better opponents. Fury did well to get up after the 12th round knockdown and that's what shaded it, for Wilder, for me. Fury outboxed Wilder and was winning the fight had he not been knocked down twice.

Fury's impression of AJ's style is spot on. He will smash both these boys up though. He's just a tighter boxer, can take a decent punch and is a more athletic all round package so to speak.

I guess it's possible he was playing it cool in the 12th but it looked to me like he was absolutely stretchered there - sleeping on the canvas like a baby. Climbed out of his own grave and showed massive heart.

Both fighters deserve huge credit but if anything I'd be more impressed with Wilder. You can say he's really limited, got a generous decision for the draw etc, but facts are he went twelve with a substantially more skilled fighter, sat him down twice, and was never seriously hurt or in trouble himself. Reckon he'd figure Fury out if they rematch.

Well I enjoyed that. Wilder swings his arms like a pissed up Geordie and I’m pretty sure anyone still awake could avoid most of his ridiculous punches but at the same time Fury moves like a lightweight at times - his footwork and bobbing is stunning at times.
