My old Nokia 6300 is dying, she has a spare. So, she was kind enough to give her spare. However, she doesn't know her security code. She's no longer with the same company who supplied the phone so they don't give two hoots. Are there any clever ways to get past this problem? I've had a bit of a google but there seem to be a lot of people on mobile phone forums who really do spout a load of rubbish. I've tried a couple of code generators but none have worked. Anyone know a good one?
Cheers.
Did she change it? Have you tried 0000?
There are often shops in the seedier parts of town that can help unlock phones.
She doesn't remember changing it and the default 11111 doesn't work. I've spend a couple of hours trying birthdays and all the obvious 0000 -99999 but nothing works. Looks like I might need to got to a seedy part of town.
The default security code on those is 12345 if memory serves (doesn't help if she's changed it of course).
she must have changed it as I've tried that one as well.
i'd use torture techniques until she remembers
Nice idea but she's not holding out. She has a memory like a sieve and no system for remembering such things!
Can't you just restore the factory settings or will it not even let you get that far? After that there should either be no code or it will be 0000 or 1234. You will of course loose all the data on the phone but at least it will be useable.
Nokias are 1234 aren't they?
I've used similar to this before
That's how I found out I needed the security code. I was trying to restore factoty settings but it wont let me do that without the security code.
I've tried a couple of master code generators online. Funnily enough, they both threw up the same master code, however, it didn't work ๐
It's a BB5 phone, you can't do them with the code generators.
Assuming you have a USB cable for the phone, you can do it with a combination of some dodgy software, and then sending a memory dump to some dodgy geezer on various mobile phone forums (gsm-forums for example), who will extract the code for you.
Independent mobile phone shop will do it easiest, with a special box thing, shouldn't cost too much, and take a couple of minutes. Phone round your local ones and find one that'll do it for a fiver or so. Make sure you're clear that it is the security code not the network lock that you want sorting out - network lock might well cost a bit more.

Cheers Joe, funnily enough, the phone wasn't network locked as an old Orange sim works fine despite the fact it was supplied by Vodafone. Looks like a trip to the sleazy part of town later.
