McHamish - MemberI'm contemplating riding into Canary Wharf from New Malden...it's a 52k round trip. It's all flat so it wouldn't be too much bother...but whenever I've cycled in London before I don't like the road chaos and the feeling that I'm about to be crushed. Perhaps that's something you get used to.
Try some cycle training. In all seriousness it can help give you the skills and confidence for cycling in traffic, many London boroughs will set you up for free, just about everyone I know who has done it recommend it including people who have been cycling in London for years. You may drive e.t.c but's a different game. 52 km RT will be a new commute once you build up your fitness.
