Got a new laptop couple of weeks ago, so the old PC was cleaned out of old files switched off and left on the floor for 2 weeks. Come to switch it on again but no DVD drive showing in My Computer. BIOS picks it up and when i go into Device Manager its there but says driver corrupt. Unistalled it, disconnected it, tried another DVD drive but still the same.
What is going on??
Its not very old, around 3 years perhaps.
Pentium 3.4 D
2Gb Ram
Sony DVDRW etc etc etc.
uninstall, reboot then connect the drive. Then when it asks download the latest driver and install it.
Would do, but i need the DVD drive to install software for a USB Broadband Modem to be able to get internet access!
can you not copy the driver over using Bluetooth or a wifi or a USB key from you new computer?
Thats a good idea, will try it. Cheers
