Speaking as a butcher of 20 years ,its the working in the cold that keeps you moving.
My dogs are fit too, all the bones n scraps they get,our dog of 18 years a heinz 57 variety from the dogs home favorite was breast of lamb.

I've got a fit as **** 7yo Westy, fed on a mixture of fresh beef, lamb and pork trimmings, flanks and fat, and mixed with ox liver and fish. He loves teatime! 😀
I've worked in a butchery for 17 years, and after seeing a TV program on dogfood and whats in it there was no danger I'd be feeding him that shite. 😉

I think because they are always trying to nick sausages then having to run away whilst having cleavers thrown at them.
I have a mental image of the traditional butcher at work, trimming meat at a table. Behind him is his waste disposal system, sitting waiting in a corner, alert and watchful. The butcher throws any gristle or dubious bit over his shoulder, the dog leaps into the air and catches, crunches and swallows it, then returns to the corner.
For extra fitness, add a dog or two for competition.
