back in the day a bunch of long haired hippies pushed some fat tired bikes up a hill somewhere in America. It quickly caught on. One of those hippies posts on this site.

Oh and it is claimed that is how the whole mountain bike thing started. (of course we were doing it on our grifters and choppers in scotland, but we're not renowned for our marketing skills 😆 )

There are some pretty serious figures from the history of the sport posting over on Retrobike as well.

we once had John White come to talk at one of our AGMs. It was hard to shut him up, as he had eidetic memories of every cyclocroos he'd ever done 🙁
