Me I am. How times have changed. It's the Friday before Christmas and I'm going out night riding in -x deg C when I should really be in the boozer getting pissed and talking shite ๐Ÿ˜›

Just doing a 16 mile route, takiing in the Hit the North 2.0 trails with a bit added on. Anyone else braving it tonight.

Got to get into work tonight. Snow is too deep here to even try to take the car ... so will be taking the mountain bike. Does that count?

mooman - it's good enough for me pal!

lowey - rivi is ace for night riding. Was up there a few weeks back with a pal from Horwich. Proper night riding up there!

Nah - I went out today, in the cold and the light. Of course since then it's dumped down a load of snow so all of my tracks have been quietly erased, and I bet even the puddles I cracked my way through have re-frozen ready for the night watch.

Your bloody mental! I'm looking out over Rivi at the moment Dave. You are aware its covered in snow. I was out there on Sunday afternoon and it was hairy in places mate. Lots of sheet ice. That will now have snow over it. Be bloody careful out there on your own fella. If it was me, I wouldn't goon my own. Seriously!

I was hoping to get up that neck of the woods Sunday. Christening run for the new toy ๐Ÿ™‚

Be reet Ads... I'm sticking to the mainly muddy moors so frozen it will "hopefully" be quite grippy. Thats the plan anyway :p

New Toy ??? another new bike ?

I am toying with the idea....but then I live in gnarlcore East Anglia so the worse that could happen is I wash out on some sheep poo.

Friggin' cold tho.

I've just put all't bits off the Intense onto a Pace RC305 frame for't winter. Well.... that was the plan originally. I may have bought ...ahem... the odd new bit to go on it ๐Ÿ˜‰ Its nearly finished anyway. So I'll be out Sunday round Rammy I think

Be careful though mate. The track up to the Pigeon Tower was particularly bad. Frozen solid as it doesn't get any sun. I'd avoid that side

I was out last night for a couple of hours round the woods near Notts.

It was 'kin freezing and the road bits were lethal. The bits in the woods were, on the other hand, very enjoyable, deep and crisp and even, even.

visibility is good on snowy nights, can be too bright in the sunshine. Interesting to see which tracks get ridden. some singletrack I like had no prints at all after a week, not even footprints or dog/fox footprints. I thought it was getting a bit overgrown...

It's the Christmas ride tonight- with only me going on it because no-one can get here or they have already spent the day in the pub. So a possibly solo local ride in the Beacons for me then, followed by some beer and a meal in the pub.

Yay- loads of fun on the frozen lanes, off-road proved almost totally impractical ๐Ÿ™ And the Ghetto Studded tyres were seriously poo. They gripped the ground like the proverbial sticks to a wooly blanket- but despite the old innertube used as a liner the screwheads punctured the liner and the innertube. Repeatedly. Changing the tube in the snow (more than once? twice? keep going!) is not a barrel of laughs.

Ace ride last night - one of the best!
Loads of grip in crisp snow (just a couple of inches though more has fallen since).

Happy days - looking forward to the next one!
