No that's me with the gun like I said its a London thing
Police/insurance might have something to say about your pimp blacked out windows hindering your rear vision.
I don't think there is a law saying you have to be able to see out of a rear window is there? Plenty of vans have 100% blacked out rear panels.
Rear window's irrelevant- he didn't look in the driver's mirror he has, what are the odds he'd have looked out the rear window either?
Rear windows aren't a legal thing, but the insurance will want to know of any modifications. Nothing to suggest the OP is anything but honest in that respect.
OP: Answer this. If you had stopped reversing and sat there with your handbrake on when the other car came around the corner do you think there would have been a collision?
don't wanna get insurance involved just reckon he should have to pay for the re spray on my bumper
Choose which one you want most, I'd hazard they're mutually exclusive situations.
Also bear in mind that a claim (even if you're lucky enough to get 0% fault) might still cost you more than the repair in the long run on increased premiums.
Spoke of her that must be obeyed and she has issued the decree 'let it go it's not worth it ' or words to that effect
I am now off to chain reaction to purchase something needless in a vein attempt to make myself feel better
Thanks for contributions end of transmission

Will my insurance and the police "have something to say" about about my van too ?
Surely the solid metal panels all round and solid metal bulkhead behind the drivers seat will be "hindering my rear vision" ??
Or did you just not think it through properly before having (what you hoped would be) a clever dig ?
I've got out the van to check its clear when reversing, checked all blind spots when back in and STILL reversed very slowly into a fanny thats wheeched up behind into the blind spot with reversing lights on and a beacon running and signal for direction into the space.
I just assume no other driver plans further than their nose. They can't cope either when you give them space to complete the manoeuvre.
If the road is not wide enough for two vehicles to be safely side by side then I would still side with the OP.
You cannot expect to squeeze past a car that is manoeuvring on a road that is intended for single file traffic. Why should someone in the middle of a manoeuvre have to slam on the brakes because someone has tried to force their way past? I would rather the person parking was left to park properly without hitting anything they are parking between and without being rushed so they end up messing it up.
But as even a no fault claim will hike up your insurance then just get one of those mobile paint guys to sort it. Will probably cost less than your premium hike next year if you claim.
The problem is that road is too wide to make people stop. They will chance an overtake even though it is in reality not wide enough. The left over dotted line from before the parking bays doesnt help.
Its a simple rule surely that if some one hits you from behind its their fault.
Not always. I ran into the back of a van, he pulled out of a driveway into a 60 limit heading the same direction as me. Insurance went in my favour.
