I appreciate you have a specific link, but the real answer should be 'which one?'

There are 'only' 56 MPs currently facing allegations of sexual misconduct, so you've got a fair chance of being right regardless of who you pick.

I suspect who ever it is, they will probably quite enjoy a meeting with the Chief Whip!

Are you sure it wasn't a recording of the labour front bench being circulated?

I hope that the name of who did this is shared, and that appropriate action (sacking) follows. And then I woke up.

Well there was that MP who was found to have visited porn sites on his office computer (Damian Green I think) because evidence was in his cache. So they have to use their mobiles instead.

Great. If they use their mobiles and the HoC WiFi, then the domains and IP addresses should be in the logs somewhere.

Sadly, unless it is really depraved stuff, this is not illegal. Applying moral judgements to it doesn't wash with this bunch of amoral cockbags, so we'll have to hope that they used a work device and there is an AUP in place that allows them to be either sacked or reprimanded based on HR policy.

Coupon?

Are you sure it wasn’t a recording of the labour front bench being circulated?

I'm reminded of Sean Lock's NSFW quip on Countdown.

Recorded as a legal requirement even, thanks to the Investigatory Powers Bill that they themselves made statute.

That Mogg photo is fake - he uses a wired telephone and get his kicks from a lady describing the cut of her bloomers.

Remarkable the number of STW members with such biblical attitudes to sex when religious threads usually get shut down because of attitudes to religion. 🙂

Do you people really find it anything more than slightly amusing that an MP views porn at work? Perhaps the people at STW can use their cookie-obtained info to report how many of us have a porn window open at the same time as STW and a professional window. Yhat would also be slightly amusing but no more.

Cougar - The story goes that trams back in the 1890s or so used to issue coupons which the conductor - or clippie - would punch holes to validate each journey, much like some old-school conductors still do on the trains in Glasgow.

As the next most common thing likely to be punched in the city was someone's face, over time punch your coupon (in) in reference to your tram tickets entered Glasgow slang to refer to a punch in the face by someone. As a result, coupon substituted face.

If you applied the Actual Law to everyone in HoC, I reckon the vast majority of them would be sacked, bankrupt from the sheer number of fines or actually in jail.

And on top of it all, do any of them actually do any work? It seems to be all organising parties, having the parties and recovering from parties. With a sideline in ****ing.

I don't have the most demanding job in the world but I do know that I don't have time to be partying or ****ing on work time and I also know that any attempt to access porn on a work computer is an instant on the spot dismissal. This lot though... 🙄
If it wasn't so tragic, I'd quite like a job where I got £80+k a year, all my expenses and the time to party...

Edit: oh it's a blocked word. Rhymes with banking...

If I did it in work and a colleague caught me, Id expect to get the sack or at least some sort of disciplinary

Also, importantly, this front bench MP wasn't on their own in a private office, they were in the chamber of the House of Commons... which they not only share with their fellow MPs, but is televised live for the nation. What a grotbag.

Is it really that biblical to prefer if people didn't watch porn in public?

I never realised I was such a puritan.

Really? Amusing that someone watches porn whilst sitting next to a female colleague? Really???

If they were caught watching in a private space then I could sympathise with your opinion. On the floor of the country's legislative house with colleagues watching over your shoulder? That stops being funny.

No, that's the first time that's been mentioned on the thread. So I'll add, "really???".

Edit: and doubt the MP's sanity rather than interests. I hadn't realised the MP was publicly viewing porn if that was the case. I'd assumed it was like many previous cases where traces were found on computers etc..

Details in the link in the first post.

The same person was caught by female colleagues watching porn both in the house of commons and a committee meeting.

I think the issue is what it says about your judgement if you think that watching grot at work isn't likely to get you into a spot of bother

What people do concensually behind closed (and preferably locked) doors even at work isn't my business. A couple of colleagues used to make good use of work's time and were quite noisy about it. One of them introduced me to his wife recently, I managed to keep a straight face.

Just to be clear, then, you're happy with MP's viewing porn, on their phones, in their offices, when they are supposed to be working?

Anywhere else that would be gross misconduct, let alone doing so in the actual House sat next to other MPs, let alone female ones.

There were news stories a while back about people arrested for viewing porn on their phones on the train. Why is the HoC any different?

And people wonder why the Tories keep getting voting in...

My money is on Pritti watching some industrial strength man-on-man action and sending screen shots to the entire front bench.

It that situation I'd put it as the same level as those people on here currently at work in their offices on STW. Happy? I wouldn't know so wouldn't be happy or sad.

Sat next to other MPS of whatever sex on the benches of the house isn't acceptable IMO.

According to Frankie Boyle a slow puncture at sea is what does it for P Patel.

It's not really the same thing though is it. We are all allowed free internet access in our job, as its in web design.

Although I'm pretty sure browsing porn hub would be instant dismissal, despite my protests that I'm appraising thier UI for usability ideas 😀

Which presumably is the whole point...... the risk, the "who's been a naughty boy". I doubt very much that it was because the perv was so busy that they simply didn't have a moment on their own.

Didn't one of the Tories mock the Labour Party website for having adverts of Arab Prostitutes showing as banner ads...

...until someone explained that the banner ads were selected based on his previous browser history.

Might be a myth but made me smile.

Binners use the term "grot" which I find odd for an artist. I won't list porn sites that I'd put on the same level as browsing STW at work because on past experience that would get me a ban but there's porn and porn. From the soft or erotic art end of the spectrum to the illegal end. Then there are the dating sites or exchange sites you may or may not consider porn which are at the same level as people talking about their latest MTB or group ride and linking pics on STW.

It won't be long before people come up with the word "exploitation" so I'll point out that I consider that many of the people doing extreme dangerous things for Red Bull are being exploited.

That's nothing - some forum members seem to get off on starting arguments on threads. No kink-shaming from me.

Do I get a little put down for using the term "grotbag"?

Are you suggesting that the MP's peers might have misconstrued art for porn, and that the bloke has simply been misunderstood? Remember, this is Conservative MPs making a compliant about someone who sits on the Conservative front bench... they're unlikely to be quick to throw accusations about.

Who is the house of commons perv?

Who gives a shit.

It is distracting from Partygate - which is what has the Tories worried.

Most new skool Tory support still lament the loss of Page 3, so it's a safe message to push.

Not so much the pissups that Johnson was having whilst most traditional Tory support didn't dare open the windows let alone go outside.

That is why this crap needs ignoring and there to be only one theme.

PARTYGATE BABY YEAH!

Wow. The internet is such a mystery to us all it needs egg-sucking levels of explanation on STW! Genius.

The internet is such a mystery to us all...

It genuinely is a mystery to those in the HoC.
From Nadine Dorries "downstreaming" and asking Microsoft about "getting rid of algorithms", Theresa May demanding that Google / Facebook etc remove "harmful content" within the rather arbitrary timeframe of 2hrs...

None of them have a ****ing clue. Although it seems most of them can use a search engine...
