The BX was the biggest POS I ever owned, funnily enough the Rover(WeeMobile) after was one of the most reliable cars I ever owned in 10 years the only thing I ever had to do to it was a head gasket.

Mr Overshoot - your 1st car is EXACTLY the same as mine except mine was N reg. Same colour, same chrome.

Dad had the South African shaped 5th car/truck you had - but with a 400bhp V8 stuffed under the bonnet. It was eeevil!

Y reg 1.7 non turbo Vauxhall Combo van. Rusty as you like, does 50+mpg if I drive it properly though. Think the city rover is the winner though.

I reckon the little "Viagra" is the least cool, beating narrowly the Pirus.
The ugliest would need to be the Volvo 340. I generally love the Volvo design but it pushes me way too much.

A friend of ours had a punto of a similar age that also sounded like it was about to fall in half over speed bumps.. FWIW ours also sounds like it's about to snap under any braking or accelerating too..

Had the throttle cable snap this morning on the way to work, ended up stuck in the middle of deliverance country waiting for the AA to turn up.

While attaching the car to the van to tow it to the garage the source of the knocking was found and cured. Part of the engine cover had come loose and was rattling around and held on with a single bolt.

Now the throttle cable has been replaced....but its sticking so the car is revving like hell all the time.

Might not be the uncoolest...but I think its one of the shittest, especially where reliability is concerned. Time to replace it I think

Tiny engine in the boot, used to blow the coolant pipes on even the gentlest hill so we kept bottles of water + jubilee clips in the front boot. I'm not sure anything over 45 mph was possible without killing it, I once managed 60 for a couple of seconds until my Dad screamed at me to slow down.

Lasted me fine until my younger brother started to use (and abuse it) - within 3 months of shared ownership he'd killed it dead. We managed to sell it twice, both times the new owners got a couple of miles before it broke down and the inevitable phone-call and refund followed.

My last car. Bought for £600 at 100,000 miles. Did another 66k on it.

The sandwich family are currently tootling around in a 1.0 litre 3 door Micra on an R plate. It is a tad dented and marked from a hard life. It's a hoot to row along but dog slow.

I've got a ten year old Avensis, a GOLD Avensis.

My old van still has a tape player, so 80s/90s music only.

previous motors include Rover 400 (yuk), Sierra 2l GL and Holden Kingswood wagon.

I drive a 1999 1.2 corsa. yeaaaah1!!lol. It's blue. woop.

I have a Ford C-Max, have no children to carry in it.... and it has tinted windows.

My car passed its MOT today but the garage said it was probably for the last time.

There's nothing hugely wrong with it, it's just very tired - quite high mileage and, while it's not been ragged, I don't think it was very well looked after in it's early years, that's probably shortened its life by a considerable amount.

Looking at the URL I think it's meant to be a picture of a Fiat Uno rather than the rather tidy looking sports car most of us are probably looking at! 🙂

Hi McMooter - sadly not very uncool - especially when if you have the 24v like me 😆

I think I may have the winner although don't have the car any more.. A £30 Austin Montego with no petrol filler pipe so to put fuel in you had to lay on the floor and reach behind the wheel to a corroded stub of pipe sticking up from the tank.. It also didn't like going over 45mph and would suddenly swerve into the kerb at 46 mph. Had confy seats though which was handy as it spent a lot of time at the side of the road with hazards lights on. And I got £50 scrap for it!

I've got an MG ZR in boy racer blue. I swooped it with my sister who had owned it from new. It's got phat alloys and a spoiler, broken door sills and every window leeks. It smells badly too as her dog was sick in the back, I've tried every cleaning product but that pedigree chum still lingers. The most embarrasing thing of all it's got L plates on it still (I'm 29) I wouldn't have started to learn to drive but the missus was fed up of driving me everywere.

Overshoot, is your 3rd car a Granada? I have vauge memories of bring dropped off to school in one of those, in gold with brown trim.
