I may be naive in thinking this is not down to Terrorists; but half of all UK pilots (BALPA) have had lasers shone into their cockpits!

Mindlessly stupid beyond belief, but horribly common I'm afraid.
They need to arm domestic flights with laser seeking cruise missiles....

It's the same type of people who drop bricks off motorway bridges. Not terrorists, just c**ts. (I accept that that particular Venn diagram will have a lot of crossover)
The report of military strength lasers being used on occasion was worrying. Your average nilistic tearaway is not going to be able to get hold of one of those easily.
Military [i]strength[/i] lasers you can probably get from eBay/Alibaba.
The accuracy, power consumption etc etc certainly wouldn't meet military spec.
Group of oiks used to shine lasers off a bridge down onto the cycle path on my ride home. Which was annoying.
