The locals must be shitting themselves..
That's a great idea! I'm sending that to [url=
m'll Paint It 😉
They may have a new pope but they'll never have the Falklands 😉
I went for a couple of nice fat pork sausages in the end
I'll leave it to others to make the Pope innuendo jokes as they see fit.
We go from Argentinian pope to Falklandy jingoism. Didn't take long. 🙂
I wish someone in the basque country sold decent sausages.
They´re all pink here,not good.
The falklands, Malvinas islands are about as british as paella or curry....erm.
There´s a new santa, or something.
In other news, think there's going to be massive rebranding all over glasgow, FTP (Frank the Pope), just doesn't seem to cut it anymore.
The Vatican are going to invade The Falklands!
David Cameron and new pope Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Argentina are going to have fisticuffs outside the sistine chapel.
Cheering them on are Tony Blair, The queen, Queen (the band), The ****s from One Direction and a bunch of random Argentines. The locals must be shitting themselves..
Vote for this on Jim'll paint it 😀
I'm sure the Falkland Islanders would give him a warm welcome. We Brits always do 🙂
I'm sure the islanders will be in his prayers.
He's got a touch* of Stanley Unwin or Count Arthur Strong about him too.
If his material is half as good they could be onto a winner.
*Not literally, of course.
Well, not yet anyway.
mmm...
Thinks...
Jim Bowen...
Bullseye...
Given all the recent news around the catholic church, will the new pontiff be reminding his faithful clergy that
There's nothing in this game for 2 in a bed!
IGMC....
Let's hope this new bloke comes to his senses and suddenly remembers that his god said condoms are good, because they help prevent the spread of AIDS and reduce unwanted pregnancies (very important in these times of over population).
He could go on to say that as his god created all animals including humans, and that as homosexuality occurs naturally elsewhere in the natural world, god obviously is OK with homosexuality.
And then, as per the New Testament, the church should sell up all it's worldly goods to help the poor and needy.
He should also announce the newly discovered 11th Commandment:
Thou shalt not kiddie fiddle.
Or, he could just announce what a bunch of sad delusional half-wits religious followers are, throw his robes down, and walk off into the sunset to do something constructive with his life.
Amen to that....... Anyway good luck Mike Reid in your new role.
Or, he could just announce what a bunch of sad delusional half-wits religious followers are,
Classy.
But true 🙂

Now I gave up my religion when I was 12, as I decided there and then it wasn't for me. But it always puggles me the absolute hostility some people have to it, for the vast majority, religion is a positive thing and many millions take alot of good from it..but carry on, you focus purely on the bad. 😕
I mean come on, you've that loonball nora agreeing with ye, if that doesn't set off alarm bells i don't know what would..
But it always puggles me the absolute hostility some people have to it,
Really? Nothing to do with it being based on myths perpetuated as fact, responsible for cover-ups and scandals of the most horrific nature, being responsible for many wars and the deaths of millions, deliberately alienating large parts of society etc etc.
Yeah, nothing there to make people angry at all 🙄
Not to mention all of the shagging of choir boys 😯

Well atheists make up less than 4% of the world's population, so good luck with being angry with 96% of the world's population.

Of course, only the Catholic Church has been responsible for that kind of stuff.
Ssh, listen, the thread's sounding quite shrill. 🙂
Not angry with non-atheists, angry with the institution of the church itself, although I do find it unbelievable that many, otherwise intelligent, people choose to believe in such things.
Of course, only the Catholic Church has been responsible for that kind of stuff.
I didn't say that was the case.

being responsible for many wars and the deaths of millions
go on which modern wars?
I didn't say that was the case.
Fair enough.
The majority of the conflicts in the Middle East have religion at their core. OK, maybe not the actual cause, but it certainly helps perpetuate the conflicts.
Oh, and....
George Bush claimed that God had ‘told him what to do’ over Iraq and Tony Blair said that God would be his judge. The insurgency currently occurring in these war zones is partly due to religion as the hatred of American and British troops is partly to do with the fact that they come from non-Muslim countries.
Oh, and why gloss over the crimes of the past?
So is that none then?
George Bush claimed that God had ‘told him what to do’
I think Dad told him what to do. God was just a convenient scapegoat.

Very true. I agree that god is used far too often in that way.
So is that none then?
To be fair he has said "OK, maybe not the actual cause", and then went on to give the example of the Iraq War, which as everyone knows wasn't caused by religion.
As it happens Pope John Paul very publicly voiced his opposition to the Iraq War, but Bush and Blair chose to ignore him. So a good point well made.
Let us hope the new pope suddenly remembers some extra commandments to reduce the suffering his predecessors have been party to. Might I suggest:
11.Thou shall use birth control to reduce the spread of disease (especially AIDS) and to prevent overpopulation
12.Thou shall not hoard wealth whilst others worldwide die in poverty
13.Thou shall not have intimate relations with minors, be party to those that do, or protect those that do
14.God made all animals, some animals are naturally homosexual, therefore god accepts homosexuality

Is their a really slow echo in here 🙂
So did Tony Blair take us to war before or after he 'found' god?! Or during even!
I think it's nice that God's got a new best friend.
Indeed, I imagine Godding's a lonely job at times.
God was just a convenient scapegoat
This.
An Argentinian Pontiff and no Hand of God jokes. I'm surprised.
That's ace, true fact.
