I woul dlike to dabble with layouts and options before handing over to (expensive) architect. I'm not a designer but woul dlike to payaround with software to look a the basics, what works well for this? I've seen plenty of sheds and camper van plans on STW but never asked what software is used.

I tried google sketchup when doing our barn conversion and found it a bit of a pain.

In the end I reverted to powerpoint when doing building control design specs, just because I find it faster to move stuff around and scale.

I also tried Sketchup and found it good but it took some time to get familiar with and was rather unintuitive to learn. I persevered because the price was right and it is actually pretty good.
