[#9752013]

I was pretty sure it was in my house. So, last ditch attempt to try and find it before I have it cancelled.

Any ideas?

It'll be in the pocket of the jacket that you wore to go to the pub on the last day of work and haven't worn since.

....or down the side of the seats in the car.

plugged into a pc from when you uploaded those "home videos" ?

plugged into a speaker from when you needed music for those "home videos" ?

your kids have it and have currently spent £2,135.99 on angy birds upgrades or bet365 ?

Thinking of places I tend to find mine...
Dropped down the side of the car seat?
In a jacket pocket that you've not worn for a while?
Bottom of a (laptop) bag?
In the garage next to the bike gloves?
Somewhere in the kitchen, likely near the dishwasher?

Offer the kids a reward to find it.

That usually works for me.

Less and less. The more money it costs me, the more careful I am. 😉

I have it in my pocket, I picked it up from your bedside table last night while I watched you sleeping.

So if that's his work phone, who's phone did I pick up? Nice new bedside lamps BTW OP 😉

My kids would just take a cursory glance in each room, then whine when they don't get the reward.

I think I had location history turned off, cannot find any location info related to it. I last had it before Christmas, the last sync is 16th Dec. Still think it's in the house somewhere.

It only tells you where it was when it was last on IF you have location history turned on. Which I didn't.

PS the thread is not a serious one, just to be clear.

Me too, right here on my desk. Does that help? I can tell you where my old work phone is too. I'm guessing that won't help either...

Hold on I tidied out my office drawers this morning and threw out what I thought was my old work phone, just realised it might have been yours.

I was going to put it back tonight when I was 'visiting'....

Well that was epically stupid wasn’t it? Won’t be doing that again will you.??? 😉

I find spending your own hard earned cash on something concentrates the mind wonderfully wham it comes to looking after it though.

Might be. Location history shags battery life. I don't generally lose phones, this is the first time ever in 20+ years of phone ownership.

Not in my experience but of course it depends on the phone. Pretty damn handy though.

Last time I lost my work phone, I found it in the passenger footwell of my car. After I'd cancelled it 😆

Well on my personal phone I experimented with turning it off - but it seems that the culprit was actually the Samsung version of find my phone which used location services heavily. I suppose I'd turned it off on my work phone but then I thought maybe I hadn't - but in any case, I don't seem to be able to get any info out of Google about that specific phone.

I once lost a camera after driving home for Xmas via a walk around Silbury Hill. I looked everywhere for it, no sign. (And no clever tech to find it - this was the 80s.) I drove back to London and promptly found the camera sitting on the transmission tunnel of my Beetle. I decided that the ley lines around Silbury had done magical things and whisked my camera away, returning it once I drove over the same combination of ley lines.

Go and check the local ley lines and fairy mushroom rings?

(I don't believe in ley lines. Fairies on the other hand...)
