Where can I get some waterproof fabric?

I want to make myself a tarp/ shelter thing to some specific design that I've thought up - where can I get some decent waterproof fabric from?

Are you bothered about weight? I have a roll of old-style "taslan" Gore-tex in dark green that you'd be welcome to a bit of.
