I think I’ve encountered perchy at a gate in the Clyde valley, penny didn’t drop for a while after but I can confirm he is less pantherish in the flesh

Fat bloke on a rubbish bike who was breathing out of his arse?

Might well have been me. 😉

Flashy - You are a dirty boy.

I still maintain we should only go out riding with signs like this attached by zip ties:

In unrelated news, if anyone wants v8ninety's bank details and PIN, let me know.

I've met Molgrips and Junkyard too.  Both thoroughly nice blokes.

CFH never came to teh pub though

Fred always maintains that CFH was there, he just thought twice and didn’t reveal himself.

I couldn't even start to list all the STWers I've met; as a rider in Edinburgh, as one of mlehworld, as a bike shop employee, at SITS, on Tons D&G weekend, BB200-2016, fatbike meetings, occasional tour guide in Aviemore and a shoulder to cry on for the lonely Grum 😉

I have met Ambrose, Houns, Idlejon, Middleagedmadness, Toofarwest, Flumewelck and a few others off the back of my thread last year and on the Cwm Rhaeadr ride last October. All really nice people.

Would love to meet Junkyard to say thankyou properly, and would love to meet a whole bunch more for what everyone did. If i name everyone i will be here all day.

There have been two or three over the years. Used to hang a black jersey with white singletrack lettering up in the window of the bunkhouse of STW weekends we used to have a few years ago. Still wear it but it seems to have shrunk around the belly...

I’ve met quite a few. The best was meeting Jedi and LoveWookie at the same time. “Hi, I’m Jedi”... and with a completely straight face “LoveWookie, nice to meet you”!

I did randomly bump into peterfile in a cafe. That was awkward.

"Hello, are you peterfile"?

I've met CFH several times.

I've never been the same since.

I might have unwittingly met Cinnamon Girl once if she was helping out in Imber church when it was open in summer 2016.

Just had a nice cup of tea with Stoner

He's normally on the port by then 🙂 I knew Mark (Stoner) before STW.  And a few more from BM on what became known as the 'covent garden massacre' which ended with me on a night train to brighton with no shoes. Considering I was living in Basingtoke at the time and had left the house fully clothed probably tells you everything you need to know about that evening.

I've met a few since. All seemed to be mostly functional humans. Careful use of the word 'mostly' there 🙂

I've met more than a few.

Some are even real life, honest and truthful friends....

Sadly I've been outed at random on the trail, usually id'd by the kids, including out in the Alps...

Always awkward doing the 'are you nibblybum* from STW?'...

Yes, but you recognised her bike, rather than the lady herself, so I'm told!

I seem to remember a thread from when chatroulette kicked off that we were all supposed to just say "do you ...?" to any strangers we encountered on it.  Maybe a shirt just with that on it ?  🙂

Ah yes Matt. I was once in a bothy with someone from Bearbones. Three girls came in after dark. We got chatting. Turned out that one of them was from Abernethy. I mentioned your name and, of course, she knew who you were. Then, one of her friends realised that she knew you too, even though the two of them didn't know they both knew you.

Then the guy from BB asked - "Hang on, is that Matt from Sheffield?"......   🙂

Here, does anyone remember years ago, I publicised a dream I'd had about a forum member?

Then I met him (also at Swinley)... it was a little bit of a tad awkward I must say. Funny though.

I have met quite a few.  The funniest was cycling along minding our own business in yorkshire when some chap shouted - " tandemjeremy" at us  Who it was I have no idea and I don't know if he just shouted it at all tandems he saw!
. I have also been outed as Tandemjeremy quite a few times in Edinburgh by randoms!

Met a good few folk off here including one memorable ride set up by the northern ( souther really chaps) in lancashire where around 20 folk turned up.  good day out that was.  Junkyard, Binners, and a good few others.

Also Tons touring weekend

Few folk have become real world friends as a result, everyone I have met has been great fun.

There’s several former BM members on here I know, but I’ve met Weeksy, Yak and Dr P from here.  All nice chaps who come across exactly as they are I feel.

I have no scandal to post up, sorry.

Ah, tj - I met you and your good lady last year in Fisherfield whilst doing the Highland Trail.

Met JonEdwards at the JennRide (plus a few others who I didn't realise were members here at the time - DazH for example)

Most of the others that I've met are also on Bearbones.
