One of the guys in my club uses a Shuvitt HSR for historics.

I always liked the Audi 80 and the Nissan 240RS, oh and the rear engined skoda coupe with the round headlamps.
Cant post pics at the moment

Sorry going to be a pedant but Pikes Peak isn't rallying

That Peugeot with Ari at the wheel was stunning though

I thought of Ian's Shand when I saw the thread title. It looks even better in real life!

If you like Group B rally cars check out RaceRetro at Stoneleigh Park in Feb, they have a demo Tarmac stage running and it's always fantastic to watch.

Most bonkers rally car I ever saw was a 4WD VW Scirocco, but not done via the usual route of a transfer box and pumping drive from the front engine to the rear wheels.
Rather than have front and rear wheel drive, this car has front and rear engines!!
Buggered if I can remember the drivers name and the only photos I got will be film rather than digital

Holden Monaro GTS. Probably the worst choice possible for a rally car. 5.0 litre V8, quick in a straight line but cornered like an oil tanker. The most elegantly styled car ever made in Australia, IMO.

have a pal who rallied quite a bit in the 80s and 90s, into 2000s as well. Succession of Astras and Golfs mostly, the Evos and the like.

Now confines himself to retro classic rallies, doesn't mean he lets off the pedal though - had an early 70s 911, now has a rebuilt Escort RS - very nice. Looks for pics but can't find any easily to hand.
