"Dear God!" 1m 43sYep Opal Manta on the 83 Manx Rally
Indeed, Killabrega gate, Sulby Glen.
while on the subject of rally cars, this has to be the most comical crash. Good old petter:
I guess this is the thread to repost this vid of Barry Johnson with his infamous scooby jump from the Jim Clark rally 2007

Crashes eh? I've always liked this one.
One of the guys in my club uses a Shuvitt HSR for historics.
I always liked the Audi 80 and the Nissan 240RS, oh and the rear engined skoda coupe with the round headlamps.
Cant post pics at the moment
When the Zombie apocalypse comes, you'll find me in this:
😀
My favouritise M3 rally car on my favourite Rally!
Mr Shand, an 80s BMW M Sport version would also look super.
No Sunbeam Lotus?
This has inspired me to look for my old Sega Rally II Pc game. It was always more fun with the Stratos!!!!
Sorry going to be a pedant but Pikes Peak isn't rallying
That Peugeot with Ari at the wheel was stunning though
Yaaa bollicks !
The curvy Alpines are lovely shapes.
Give yer man something to do, got his hands in his pockets 😆
that Shand is lovely
that Shand is lovely
I thought of Ian's Shand when I saw the thread title. It looks even better in real life!
If you like Group B rally cars check out RaceRetro at Stoneleigh Park in Feb, they have a demo Tarmac stage running and it's always fantastic to watch.
Most bonkers rally car I ever saw was a 4WD VW Scirocco, but not done via the usual route of a transfer box and pumping drive from the front engine to the rear wheels.
Rather than have front and rear wheel drive, this car has front and rear engines!!
Buggered if I can remember the drivers name and the only photos I got will be film rather than digital
One of my favourite rallying incidents - always makes me chuckle when I see it....
Andy Burton also had an Alfa Ferrari - now that was a beast
When rally cars weren't as cool as trucks - or as fast...

Flat out in top gear @ 4.35 on a wet fireroad 6 inches wider than the car 😯

have a pal who rallied quite a bit in the 80s and 90s, into 2000s as well. Succession of Astras and Golfs mostly, the Evos and the like.
Now confines himself to retro classic rallies, doesn't mean he lets off the pedal though - had an early 70s 911, now has a rebuilt Escort RS - very nice. Looks for pics but can't find any easily to hand.
