[Closed] when is/was the shortest day?

is that also refered to as the winter solstice?
im trying to look forward to some hot weather.
one things for sure today seem like the longest day ever with s@d all work to do and nothing to pass the time!arrgghh!

Sunrises are still getting later at the moment, but sunsets are also getting later now and at a faster rate, so daytime length is on the increase again - yippee!
