I was too old on 13/8/2010,having bought a pair that morning, and worn them for the first time that evening. They just don't suit 55 year-old bifters ,do they?

And Crack.

Admittedly, they looked rather vacant - I thought it was just youthful lack of exuberance. Still, I did get offered a mobile number (that particular assistant was in her late twenties though) 😀

Hmmmmmmm I reckon this puppy of yours is leading you astray. Have you infiltrated the dog-walking circle? 😉

The young ladies in the shop (and very lovely they were too) all seemed to think I looked really good in them.

Sales people being complimentary in order to sell something? Say it ain't so!

Some of these replies are really not that complimentary - they serve only to make me question my own treatment of others in recent weeks. I know Elfin was particularly hurt yesterday. I've obviously said things that make others want to hurt me 🙁

For that I apologise 😐

and did you honestly think you would get a sensible answer on here, and on a Friday as well? Check in the mirror underneath your fisher price hair to see if you have 'victim' scrawled across your forehead!!

oh and in answer to your original question, probably not, but i'm the last person i would ask for fashion advice

with regards to tight jeans, just model yourself on Vince Noir and you'll be fine, but will need goth juice for the hair "it's the strongest hairspray on the planet, made from distilling Robert Smiths tears"

EDIT: the above will only make sense if you've watched the mighty boosh

You need ridiculously skinny legs and no bum at all to make it work I think.

Pics needed.

if you're having to ask the question.. then you are not very likely to be cool enough to carry it off.. skinny legs and adolescent bum or not..

Alas no Yeti, weekends are pretty precious at the minute, not to be funny, but a bunch of mountain bikers or my gf isn't too much of a hard choice.

'ere, elfin, which High Street Retailer did you get your selvedge denims from? Mine were £39.95 from Uniqlo, and they're excellent, but if there are cheaper around I'm interested. Bugger paying £180 for them, or the insane $280-380 they go for in the States.

I do wish there was Uniqlo around here! My son rates them very highly but he's in London.

I iz well unfashionable but I know the answer to this

same as flares, you can only wear them one time around - strides/fashion is what defines the generation gap

scaredy - (not) wearing skinny jeans since about 1985

According to my skinny jeans wearing son, Uniqlo is good quality but he thought their products wouldn't fit me!

Not only did I used to wear skin tight jeans all the time I used to ride all over the Downs on my ten speed Coventry Eagle in the height of summer while wearing them and a shirt buttoned to the collar and suede Chelsea boots.

At 45 I could still get into them I reckon but fortunately for the rest of the off road community I have no intention of trying.

Uniqlo! 🙂

Was in their bit in Selfridges. Might've bin in a sale I'm not sure. I'd looked at countless jeans of all brands and prices, then found the Uniqlo ones which were every bit as good as anything else I'd seen, and better than quite a lot of much more spensive stuff.

I do wish there was Uniqlo around here! My son rates them very highly but he's in London.

Ha ha! Where you live is rubbish.

Only people with absolutely no sense of style buy before they try. Gotta make sure it fits propply before you part with the dosh, innit?

I try stuff on in bike shops then buy online though. 🙂
