don't put your kids in danger? I have two kids and would never dream of going onto the road side. Put them both in from the pavement side, 1 after the other.

I'm with goan on this one. So what if the other driver had to wait for a few seconds so he/she could pull out beyond the car door? What's the goddamn rush?

Last year one of my elderley customers had a heart attack,paramedics arrived,as did the mercedes ambulance,Bily was on the floor,when a young lad from up the road came in and asked how long they where going to be as he needed to go to Mcburgers for a burger for breakfast,and he couldnt get his car out on the terraced street.
Billy being 89,told him where to shove his burger,luckily he made a full recovery,not sure about the burger though.

barry bethel are your kids never going to go on a road... at what age is suitable... i find you highly ****ing frustrating that you would pass judgement like that onto someone about keeping their children safe. i put both my children in on the pavement side then walk round to the road side open the door and fasten them in. so the arsehole beeping wouldnt have been avoided. also when the roads are reasonably quite i think its important that my children learn how to behave when on a road and understand the dangers. i think they will be SAFER for it. so go enjoy yourself on your high horse covered in bubble wrap. arse.

TJ - it may well be safer, but that doesn't make it compulsory. It is the responsibility of any driver to take note of what is going on around them. People [i]do[/i] get in and out of cars on the off-side, so it's hardly unexpected to have to pull out around an open car door or to wait until said door closes.

TJ - of course its safer to get out on the kerb side, pretty obvious that one. Sometimes it just isn't practical though and getting in from the road side is the safest option.

What if it had been a wheelchair bound driver getting into the car instead?

I would of just taken a bit longer to strap my child in, and made the driver wait then given him a big smile..thats boud to wind him/her up. Yes you can have a Cull. Who else do we put against the wall.

Because vehicles are slightly more dangerous than humans or cyclists and are therefore confined to roads thus separating pedestrians and vehicles with a clearly defined boundary. You would not walk on the road needlessly when there was a perfectly suitable path.

Anyway my point was that there are some idiots on the road so why put yourselves in their path needlessly??

Vehicles are not dangerous though, they only do what people tell them to do. And where do cyclists fit in?

It is perfectly possible to put both kids in the car from one side - other parents manage this and it is clearly best practice.

I had the exact same thought when I first read the thread so can only echo what BD is saying here - have a read back through some of your posts dude (I wasn't aware you'd had [i][b]that[/b][/i] many soubriquets) - you don't exactly display massive amounts of patience yourself.

Tj - In some cases it may be possible for some people to put their kids into their car from one side - in this one it wasn't.

I am not upset at anybody - amused at their stress levels yes, upset - life's too short. As for the guy on the bike well he was being deliberately obstructive, he had the choice to move over into the passing place (3 of them) but decided not to.
