What is this? The eggs of flesh eating spiders, a harmless moth? Something more sinister?

It's one of mrs wollys tops out if the wardrobe (the hanging string things women's tops have)

I have no idea what it is except it definitely must be an alien.

Good luck.

EDIT: It must be reasonably intelligent as it has managed to wrap the strap around itself. I would probably burn the garment.

It's the eggs of the whirlybird chopper beetle.

They make a very distinctive chugging sound when they fly, you can't mistake it.
