'Worst' implies an element of choice, which in evolutionary terms is irrelevant.
So we'll have to leave out the ability to refine oil, the switch from hunter gatherer to a more agrarian existence, the abandoning of pagan beliefs in the rush to embrace the Abrahamic religions and many, many other ruinous practices.

So I'll go for either:

1. The removal of raisins from the bottom layer of the Double Decker.

2. The illegal fielding of Carlos Tevez by West Ham in the 2006/2007 Premieship Football season, resulting in the relegation and subsequent demise of Sheffield United as a viable team.

Came down from the trees is the worst thing that we ever did as a species.

The shellsuit must be up there.

Seriously though, our lack of intervention in things that could easily have been prevented... The Rwandan genocide for instance, everyone knew it was happening, yet no-one lifted a finger.

Correct this for you:

Either that or [s]Fosters[/s] lager

I'd go along with someones sentiment above about X-Factor. Maybe ITV as a whole in fact. I think war/poverty etc pales into insignificance compared to ITV.

The agonising scream in the pit of my stomach reopened after reading this...

2. The illegal fielding of Carlos Tevez by West Ham in the 2006/2007 Premieship Footbal season, resulting in the relegation and subsequent demise of Sheffield United as a viable team.

So must be that.

I'd say that the relegation of Sheff Utd must have been one of mans greatest acheivements. I'm looking forward to seeing it happen again this year.

The rise to stardom in the 1980s of Sue Pollard.

We have no one to blame but ourselves.

That and renaming Marathon to Snickers. Marathon implies something epic, the Deltic of chocolate bars. Snickers is a silly non-word.

Or... greed, intolerance, genocide and worst of all sitting back and watching greed, intolerance, genocide etc.

Life would be so much better if we were scrabbling around in mud huts dying of easily cureable diseases eh?

You can't blame Jethro Tull for everything you know 😆
Besides Aqualung is a classic album

Anyway I shall go for the diet of worms and
the romans, after all what have they ever done for us.

What can we possibly do wrong?
"there is nothing good nor bad but thinking makes it so..."

Reality TV?

Personally,

Yep. No, maybe you're right

well.. disease and famine are disease and famine..
that's indisputable..
and largely irrelevant to any point that you seem to be trying to contradict..

Strangely enough no, I haven't tried

evidently

Cures for and prevention (sanitation etc) of disease as well as the prevention of and intervention (aid etc) in famine goes hand in hand with our evolution.
