I'd be interested in this too! I have been looking for ages for a bag that allows quick access to my camera, but lets me still use my normal rucsack.
The nearest I have come to something is the digital holster & harness from Think Tank that I guess can be worn as well as a rucsack.

Dunno but Tamrac products are built to a very high standard. Better than lowepro imho. Get your hands on one and you'll see what I mean.
I've got the 5164 for my a300. That's on the US site, and not the UK one, but you can get them here.
