dubstep is **** amazing. Fire up an old modem or phone a fax machine while smashing yourself in the the face with a hammer and you'll get what its all about.
Good stuff.
It's the sort of sound that can be heard when all the household appliances in the local currys come to life, after closing time, and get it on.
sounds like a broken hard drive -f@#king garbage!
And you sound like my dad. HTH.
I think the 'hardcore' dubstep has spawned a newer, more commercial version. This happens in all musical genres. There was raw punk and there was commercial punk. There is extreme heavy metal and more commercial metal.
Another thing occurs to me. Apart from the 'melody' (not everything on here actually has a melody imo) there needs to be 'depth'. A wall of sound with interconnecting levels, moving in harmony. 'Cracks' has it but I haven't really heard this melodic depth in anything else yet. Perhaps Cracks is not really dubstep. Dunno. I like it though!
This is where it's at in Dubstep right now.....

oh god, i just threw up a little ๐
my effort at restoring the balance (had a quick scan through the thread and dont think it was posted before)
cant do dub step too slow and doesnt roll like dnb/jungle for my taste also doesnt seem to quite have the real depth of sub bass like some jungle etc
Skrillex is better when covered by a real band:
Or a guy with far too much time on his hands. All of the bass bits sounds like loads of burps. Brilliant!
Tis shite is what it is. What you need is good old 80's metal
Dubstep is over - step away from the genre, nothing to see here.
Justin Bieber has revealed he is experimenting with dubstep sounds for his brand new album. The much loved (and hated) teen star said "I'm about halfway through [my album]. I'm experimenting. What's big right now are beats that are in the clubs, like dubstep. So I want to mess with that stuff, but also stay me."
