My bro wants/needs a pein hammer for xmas - he's a junior modeller working on stop motion films (fantastic mr fox, coraline etc etc)

For stop-motion scale model making I think you'd be looking at supplier for jewellery making and silver smithing rather than the kind of hammers blacksmiths, brickys and chippys would buy
