I need to build a small retaining wall. It is only 2 dense concrete bricks tall.

What is a suitable mix of sand and cement?

Can I use sharp sand as I have a couple of bags in the garage?

3 to 1.

Not sure about sharp sand for wall building. I used it as a base for my patio and is sets harder than a hard thing.

Well my builder mate was impressed, he said my wall was 'Pissed in three dimensions' I guess that is good.

buliding sand for walling,
retaining wall double thickness.
3n1 below ground,4n1 above ground ratio..

Top Tip, if you don't have any febmix, put a few squirts of washing up liquid in the water, makes a lovely smooth mix ๐Ÿ™‚
