I need to build a small retaining wall. It is only 2 dense concrete bricks tall.
What is a suitable mix of sand and cement?
Can I use sharp sand as I have a couple of bags in the garage?
3 to 1.
Not sure about sharp sand for wall building. I used it as a base for my patio and is sets harder than a hard thing.
It'll be reet, have fun
Well my builder mate was impressed, he said my wall was 'Pissed in three dimensions' I guess that is good.
buliding sand for walling,
retaining wall double thickness.
3n1 below ground,4n1 above ground ratio..
Top Tip, if you don't have any febmix, put a few squirts of washing up liquid in the water, makes a lovely smooth mix ๐
washing up liquid is nice
but bad practice.
Good work, sounds like your brickie skills are as good as mine ๐
Has it fallen down yet?
yeah it will weaken the mix but then so does too much plasticiser, and lets be honest will it make any difference to the strenght on WCA's wall ๐
