I get loads of stuff from uniqlo but their jeans didn't fit me right. The waist felt really tight and stiff, was just uncomfortable. A size up would mean the legs would be too baggy I think.

The current trend of lower cut waists is causing me no end of trouble to my ego - I've just had to buy my first pair or 36 inches, since the 'waist' now effectively is the hips and the size of my arse now has to be taken into the equation.

I've got to wear a belt again too, because the waist gapes when I bend over, and at 38 I'm too old for the cleavage shot I feel.

😳 😯

black straight cut from Wrangler, Lee or Matalan. I'm not fussy. as long as it's not blue denim. I hate blue denim on my short fat legs, haven't worn denim since I was 18, which is nearly 30 years ago

Straight leg, low-ish waist, fitted cut. Decent boots / shoes / brogues to finish.

Boot cut screams stuck n the 1990s. Skinny screams eat some food and do some exercise.

And why has short leg suddenly become 30" - too long by a couple of inches for my stumpy little legs and I can't stand having the legs all bunched at the bottom. Any recommendations for a proper short leg much appreciated. Did get a pair of River Island jeans turned up at a local shop but the guy was such a smart arse attitude I vowed to never go back there.

Slim, last skinny pair didn't fit my Hoy-esque thighs. Or something like that.

cut? Is that related to the cheapest jeans ASDA do? Because if it is, that's the one I'm rocking generally.

for turnups. either roll or the neater single fold, or just get them shortened for a fiver at the local dry cleaners. it's only decent selvage denim that's worth getting chain stitched with exactly matching thread at somewhere like the denim doctor.

Hiut straight selvedge here. Whoever else up there has Hiut selvedge - leave them longer than 6 months if you can (clearly aimed at first time raw denimers) - the longer you leave raw denim the better. My previous pair got their first wash at 24 mths (The Flathead F38s), lots of airing, febreeze inbetween, but no actual wash. First wash was cold with no detergent.

Regular visits to the freezer is supposed to be a good way of keeping raw denims from minging. Bit like a Camelbak bladder.

Yep I freeze mine every couple of weeks, and don't keep them in the wardrobe with the rest of your clothes.

You're allowed to wash your testes, just not your jeans. I wear these marvelous things called pants that separate my genitals from my trouser wear. I wash my pants often.
